I don’t know how to feel.

Waited 20 plus years for that
I know you wasn’t t around for the 99 season but this one feels the same. The difference is Mario is not leaving for the NFL like Butch next season lol.

If this staff retains players at the same rate as last season a large amount of the talent will return.

Potential returning players who contributed during the playoffs (meaning they saw snaps on offense or defense, not just special teams.)

QB: 0
HB: 3 (Fletcher, Brown, Pringle)
OL: 3 (Sampson, McCoy, Rodriguez)
WR: 3 (Tony, Moore, Trader)
TE: 1 (Lofton)
DE: 3 (Lightfoot, Scroggins, Pickett)
DT: 3 (Moten, Scott, Blount)
LB: 2 (Toure, PoPo)
CB: 5 (OJ, Ethan, Lucas, Brown, Antoine)
S/Nickel: 3 (Poyser, Fitz, Day)

That a lot of experience in the system returning, throw in the portal guys and Miami will have a very talented team again in 2026.

We will be back bro!!

Can you cats believe that I’m more piszed at Indiana winning than Miami losing. Don’t get me wrong, I would’ve loved for my team to win but I’m just not that type of sports fan that like seeing teams win for all the news outlets and sports talk shows going to give them the Cinderella best team ever love fest beginning of a football dynasty talk. If you don’t believe, turn on sports center and watch them do the warm ups.

This is why I'm mad too. We had a much harder path to get here than them and just waited until the last game not execute. Basically gave them the Cinderella ending that we worked our *** off for smh.

Hey, Hey! Dammit.

They beat us. They moved line of Scrimmage, and their Secondary was Velcro. They are Elite.

It is what it is. We are very good. Stay Proud. I am.

Let's find a quarterback and get things busting off some f****** lips next year.

We had a great season. Lick our wounds and fight harder next time.

We were every bit the team we thought we were.

They were what we expected.

We had the chance.

I’m hurt.

And Beck is going to replay that pass for the rest of his life.
It’s a tough one. I think I’m just sad man. Wanted this team to finish it with the big one. Lot of guys on that team re wrote our history. Every single player and coach on the team is leaving the program in a better spot then when they found it.

This is football and life. Someone wins, someone loses. It’s a tough pill to swallow to be on the losing side. We deserved it. But so did Indiana.

Just have to look at the positives of the year. Which, there are too many to even count. Proud to be a cane fan.

Boys played well, for the most part. Gameplan hurt a bit, they played our tendency and we didn't adjust early enough. They dared us to go off tackle/stretch and we had success that way. We were stubborn with duo most of the night and it hurt specially on third and short. We're in a good place, I'm excited for the future

I am locked in a cycle of upbeat enthusiasm and stomach-turned nausea.

We made it through the toughest playoff run in history. Miami.

We should have won the national championship. Miami.

This is like going through emotional withdrawal.

I said it in another thread - this feels like watching the ending of the Friday Night Lights movie. Except our squad is Permian.

Also hurts because we all know we had it when the DEF held them to a FG with 1:52 remaining that put them up by 6

Well said - hurts so bad because we all know we let them boys off the hook.

You ever watch a sad movie, that's a very good movie but still super sad, and it just sticks with you?

That's how I feel

This is not 1986 or 2002. No where near that level of devastation.

We knew we needed to play an A game to win. Instead:

* Dawson played with his food the entire first half again. (no points scored in the 1st half in two of the four playoff games).
* Whiffed block allowing a blocked punt for six
* Missed field goal in a predictable way. (Carter Davis on the left hash leaking the ball to the right)
* Toney fielding another punt inside the five yard line.
* Facemask on 3rd and 18 when IU was running a draw play.
I don’t think Dawson was playing with his food

I think he and our OL were getting whipped and didn’t know what to do about it

Playing with his food implies we were ahead of the game but we weren’t

Well, when I wake every morning - I have just as good a day as I make up my mind to have.

If I decide - nothing can bother me, nothing can *iss me off, nothing can shake me.

If I expect problems - Oh, I'll have a boatload.
If I expect opportunities - that's exactly what I'll find.

So.

Where do we go from here?

We will find that which we expect.
