I can’t defend Manny

This is a big deal, dude was a maniac on the sideline when he was a DC. Haven’t seen him show any aggression

Yes picking coaches is hard but we have somehow managed to make 5 straight **** **** hires in a row. That is even harder to do statistically. The law of averages or dumb luck would dictate at least one of the five would exceed expectations. Yet we've somehow whiffed five straight times. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once and a while.

Clearly the BoT is not prioritizing athletics specifically football. Our AD is a damning red flag we are not committed to having a big time football program. Real transitions must come from the top down and clearly that is not happening. As a result we are chasing ghosts of the past at this point. Can you even blame the fanbase for being cynical and disillusioned?

Don't know what the BoT thinks but our AD is a ticket office clown.... idiots make idiotic hiring decisions.

I don't believe there's a black and white answer, or outcome, for a given record.

In most cases, sure, UM will give him the opportunity to make changes.

A lot of people envisioned him as a future head coach here, and it's tough to walk away and admit you're wrong on somebody this quickly.

He's exactly the guy today as when UM hired him-- a first-time head coach taking over a .500ish team with a 30th ranked recruiting class. Sure, he had his hand in it, but hey, you hired him.

The one small piece of information that people are overlooking, is that the administration did not view this as a rebuilding project. And, I'm not pulling that out of thin air either...

Everything that anybody, and I mean everybody, posts on this board is ultimately conjecture, period.

My contribution to that b******* pie, is that he will not survive 3-9 season. I'm pretty sure of that.

only way he survives season 2 is hiring a big name DC who gets results immediately. tallllll order.

i still maintain he can 2-10 and survive at least half of next season. thats where i think this is going best case scenario.

i am already at rooting for blowouts during the last two years of golden.

he pulls some miracle **** this year, will eat **** for it, but it aint happening.

starting to go down the honest program is dead analysis.

not just moping, but we may actually not recover from this hire.

I don't judge our fans for anything, I haven't in a while. It's been nearly two decades and the university has not held up its end of the bargain. It's open season. We're not some gigantic state school that can tell 20,000 of its fans to f*** off.

I think if Manny learned anything from his predecessor it's that head coach and coordinator are different roles for **** good reasons. Sure Andy Reid and Billy B can call plays, but ain't many of them around.

If he can rally to a .500 record, he will probably get the opportunity, and budget, to make changes here. And, I suspect the type of coordinator he would go for would be a lot more experienced at a lot of things he might clearly overlooked. The challenge is convincing somebody of quality you aren't a lame duck, and nixing a lot of guys you brought up to save your own ***.

If he gets that day, he needs to sit down on the offensive side of the ball and define what he believes an explosive and challenging offense looks like. He'll also need to rip the Band-Aid on some of the hires he was sold on too. It's a lot of surgery that takes a lot of guts. Not sure we're seeing that in him right now, but it's a brutal business.

It’s a wrap. We’re too far gone. We’ll sit around for 3 years with Shanny as HC because that’s what classy schools must do. They must wait at least 3 years before they can correct mistakes. Then, lather, rinse and repeat. They’ll hire Rumph or Baker as HC.

I’ve read Chise post here couple times looking for any sign of homer attitude in his writing here and saw a realest stating the obvious.

Even in my own post on another post about taking 3 years Chise here states exactly what will happen wow.

Tell me now if Temple is happy with there coach and there 5-0 record?

Did anyone see the coaches on VT during the second half they were ready to take the field themselves while we were straight face lack of emotion.

I don’t know Chise yes I played this game at a respectable level but this situation has me all screwed up I think I hit the kook aide again dam-it.

Some people will never get this .... Manny Diaz does not and will never have the skills, intangibles, and personality to be
a championship or even very successful head coach. That is a fact.
