I am all in with Richt but some of you will not like this...

I didn't like the play calling either. It reminded me of Golden's first game against Maryland, and Kaaya's first game against Louisville. Everything was horizontal and very vanilla. Fortunately Walton bailed us out. And I'm not buying the notion that Richt was just "saving the playbook for a better team". Every game counts.

This particular game counted for a W...what's the problem?

I do not like Richt as a play caller. I really think he should reach out to Ken Dorsey before he gets a NFL OC job. Ken has recently stated that he would love to come back to Miami. This is Richt's chance to get someone who will be a great asset to his program. Also, he could groom Dorsey to be the next head coach.

Aren't you the guy who said "Never hire a pastor to be a head coach" You never liked Richt from day one because he offends you, yet you title this thread saying "you are all in with Richt ???" just be honest and say you dont like him

2nd game of the season vs FAU? Lmao

Mark Richt saw that Kaaya was rattled and struggling, so he simplified the play calling to keep his confidence up. That's why you saw all the swing passes, etc. Swing passes, screen, etc are an easy way to get completions in order to get your QB to settle down and get in rhythm.

Same principle applies in basketball. When you have an off shooting night you want to get some layups or to the FT line to "see" the ball go through the hoop. It builds confidence and it's a way to get in rhythm.

Richt knows what he's doing and as a former QB, he knows how to settle a QB down and to keep his confidence up. That's what he was doing with Kaaya

my bad, meant to upvote

If it wasn't for Mark Richt making the adjustment he made, scaling back the offense, Miami wouldn't have covered the spread.

He's doing a great job for someone that hasn't had to call plays in awhile, hes the type of HC that makes adjustments and isn't stubborn... he will do what he has to do to improve and most importantly win.

When Brad was struggling (yes, there were some drops), I saw Richt change play calls late in the 2nd qtr with bubble screens left and right and quick hit runs up the middle. No waiting till halftime to make adjustments, did it in game. And we got the td before half which set up the 3rd qtr. Don't see any issues so far.

Mike Leach would be hard pressed to have success with that OL .... oh wait,
- How about the amazing OCs at TCU and Ok State ..... check that,
- How about Gus Malzan ,...... hold on one second

Best thing to happen going into App State - you can show them the Tenn game to get them ready but playing below avg and winning is key

I think we're just figuring out who the play makers are and where to put guys especially on the O-Line. Our Defence is looking good and competing we just need brad to step up and lead the troupes.

What you saw was a change in philosophy.

We got out of the I-formation and went to the spread. From there we ran bubbles and inside zone all the way down the field.

Saw Noles are getting their own show on Showtime. Big time recruiting tool. We need to get our own show on HBO now.

Been thinking about Mark. I was BBB all the way and even when I knew there was no way BOT hires Butch once Mark was fired, I still wanted Butch. I wasn't sure either was a good enough coach to take us to promise land again but I was certain Butch would gather another collection of Pro Bowlers and HOF players that any slump could win one with.

I still worry Mark is too soft and I was unhappy from the first moment I heard his kids was taking an actually coaching slot. BUT, thinking about the whole picture I realize that IF you got to pick ANY SEC HC, not named Nick Saban, to be your new HC, which one would it be? Realizing Les would not come with LSU bagmen, I concluded that Mark would probably be the choice. He needs to win an NC to prove me right, but he was second best coach in SEC. (everyone not named Saban is on the way to being fired there)

Two games keeping it vanilla as **** to keep playbook closed, and he has no fire. GTFO.

You must be garbage at chess man.

Dude seriously you have no idea as to why Richt called the games he has so far. Right now it looks as if we are a run first offense who does not trust their QB. Seriously... If you cant see the benefit in that you dont know jack.

Yeap. No time to waste, fire QB coach now and bring in Ken. Hiring the kid thing did Bobby in; Mark should know better.

He sure should know better than that.

I want Mark to kick rear here but using a coaching position up on his son puts him on the fire immediately. He had Earl Morrall as his QB coach, not Howard's son. Brad has not looked improved and he is about the only thing that does not look improved. Mark needs to see this himself and take action. Either he or his son are not making the grade with a very smart QB as their student.

Lol how do you know Job Richt isn't good at coaching QB's?

Is Brad stupid? Nope. Does Brad reject coaching? Nope. Is Brad lazy and spend his time playing video games? Nope. Does Brad look better now than he did under the Golden slob staff? Nope!!!! If sonny boy can coach, he needs to have it show on the field or Mark is going to have to make up the difference. Do you seriously think another power 5 team would have hired Jon as QB coach this year? Listen, you can give a shot to a young up and coming with high risk/reward ratio but not your son. He needs to be a winning. This is a town without mercy with 4 NC coaches who have NO statue.

Package deal.

I tried to tell you people in advance, but I was made out to be the bad guy. I hope it is very clear to everyone NOW. Mark Richt's play calling lacks imagination.

Like I said before, I like Mark Richt as our head coach. However, he should hire a offensive coordinator at season's end. At this point, I don't care who it is...as long as the person has tons of imagination and rhythm.
