I’m gonna say it, Homer is a better back...

One thing I love about him is the dude always falls forward.

One of the best performances in a big game by a Miami RB in a long time.

Alot of y'all are qualifying the take with "in this offense" If Homer plays like that as RB1 I'm taking him over Walton in any offense.

I love Homer. Always have. Kids gonna be great. Give me a healthy Mark Walton everyday all day. Woulda been a great 1-2

We've had those explosive playmaking running backs a lot the last few years with Miller, Duke, Walton. Obviously great backs that can house it whenever. But theres something refreshing about a guy you can count on the muscle at least a few yards on every play unless its completely blown up in the backfield.

You need a consistent running game more than an explosive player in the backfield more to win in my opinion. Homer seems to help move the chains and can still give you a big play when he gets a crease. Walton was the heart and soul of the offense, can't deny that, but I think the offense is starting to take on a tough mentality now. We saw on the last run of the game. Watching Homer try to punish the poor defensive backs that try to hit him fires me up at least.

By the way Brown is right about how conditioned Homer is. Kid can tote it over and over, smack the tackler, flip the ball to the ref calmly and go right back into position all game it seems.

Pump the breaks.

Why ? Because he wasn’t a 5 star rb coming out of high school? Homer has it . He doesn’t need to dance and be flashy to get it done . He’s tough and has breakaway speed . He will be a good back at Miami

Walton is a good RB and so is Homer but Homer will be the better RB. Walton has yet to have a good game against good competition...he tears up the lower P5 and D2 schools.,.

NC State

All I hear about Walton Jr. for proof that he is an elite back is last year's NC State game. (19 carries, 120 yds)

In Homer's first start ever, which happened to be against a quality P5 defense, he put up better numbers (20 carries, 170 yds) than Walton Jr. put up against a P5 opponent in his entire career. By the way, with 20 carries yesterday, Homer is now tied with Walton Jr. in total career 20+ carry games.

I'm not going to say Homer is better than Walton Jr. off of one game, but it's not some insane idea.

Homer at 100% is easily much better than Walton at 100%.

Walton will be the backup RB at best next year.

Homer is clearly a far more explosive athlete and has some nice moves as well.

You guys are crazy. Walton was 1000 yd back last year and on his way again before he got injured. GTFOH Walton would start for 99% of any team in the nation, If not 100%... For those doubters name me better backs in college? Only a few will come to mind and even those are debatable.

No he would not start for 99% of teams in the nation.

You want names.

1. Saquon Barkley
2. Bo Scarborough
3. Damien Jarris8
4. Derrius Guide
5. Royce Freeman
6. Nick Chubb
7. Myles Gaskin
8. Ronald Jones.
9. Mike Weber
10. Mark Walton

Also Walton had 5.3 ypc the year before.

LOL at Mike Weber being on that list. I get that you're from Detroit but the dude has been passed by a true freshman and wasn't that good lat year. Walton is 10 x's better as a runner, receiver and blocker.

This is so not true.

It's funny how quickly people bail on players when they get hurt.

Walton was going for 200 yards on 10 carries a few weeks ago.

Now he's clearly not as good as Homer.

Bump! I have heard interview after interview of players, coaches and the like say how hard Walton works at his craft. How Walton shows dedication and leadership. I have heard Richt praise him as one of the finest players he’s ever coached!!!! And that’s saying something. I believe Walton this season, if he would have remained healthy; could have been in the heisman conversation. I will not choose which back is better, because we have both! I want Homer and Walton to straight *** rape every defense in the ACC, and I’ll sit back and fap to it!

i'm not bailing on walton. if he comes back, which i think he should and will, he'll start, and it'll be a great problem to have splitting carries.

good point now that I think about it hes the first guy I have comfidence on 3 and short in a while here

I've been excited about Homer since the beginning. If you go back and look at the thread started about the most underappreciated recruit from that class, I said Homer. I wanted him to get more carries last year. Heading into this season, I liked Walton but I didn't really agree with all of the hype. The first two games, however, the kid looked like a totally different RB to me. I guess what I'm saying is although I've always been high on Homer and think he's going to do extremely well here, I also think that Walton was going to have one of the better seasons in Canes history if not for the injury. He just had a bounce to him.

Only reason why he wasn't getting more carries last yr was cause of the fumbling he had..... Everyone knew he had that burst, but the ball security was the issue. That's why I was a little skeptical about him at first being our primary back up. Now I see I had nothing to worry about. Homer is legit

Another example Homer had 3 carries for 29 yards against FSU , Walton 12 for 25 . Big defense who averaged more ? Almost 10 a carry for Travis

I've been saying it for quite sometime, I like Walton a lot but Homer is "FASTER", "QUICKER", "MEANER" between the lines and does not dance around. He hits the hole 100 Mph. For real, haven't you guys seen this in the kid? Walton will have a tough time carrying the ball next year.

Big fan of both coming out of HS. I said Walton would make us forget about Scarlett and the others. I always felt Homer was the sleeper of his class.

Still love both. I think they both should get equal amount of touches. But I'll give the slight edge to Homer. Either way they're both beasts. 1a and 1b in my opinion

don't think he has enough to go too early. i guess he could go in the later rounds and prove himself in camp and end up a starter. rbs are a dime a dozen in the nfl.
