What are west coast fl canes thinking now? I'm in Punta Gorda in a C evac zone for storm surge. I'm borderline concerned since this seems to be more of a possible flooding event than a wind event for my area.

I'm basically in San Carlos....far enough inland but still....

The forecast has been identical now for over a day, and the Euro model has barely budged, so if I am on the west coast, I heed the evacuation warnings.

So, like, how bad is this? I read "worst hurricane in 100 years"... that's hyperbole, right?

As I'm landing in Charlotte on Friday and driving to Miami the next week... should I just cancel at this point?

You should be fine. By Friday, it will be a tropical storm over Georgia.

Yes it seems awfully like hyperventilating...so i am just preparing and hoping I am over prepared. I got some sandbags and put up shutters half way on the windows. I'll add the rest if it looks like a worse track tomorrow. Again though...I am more worried about flooding.
