What are west coast fl canes thinking now? I'm in Punta Gorda in a C evac zone for storm surge. I'm borderline concerned since this seems to be more of a possible flooding event than a wind event for my area.

The forecast has been identical now for over a day, and the Euro model has barely budged, so if I am on the west coast, I heed the evacuation warnings.

As I'm landing in Charlotte on Friday and driving to Miami the next week... should I just cancel at this point?

You should be fine. By Friday, it will be a tropical storm over Georgia.

IIRC, you'll be on the east coast, you'll never even know it was here.

FWIW, Accuweather has also kept their cone relatively stable, west of the Hurricane Center, which would obviously be very good for @SWFLHurricane

Yes it seems awfully like hyperventilating...so i am just preparing and hoping I am over prepared. I got some sandbags and put up shutters half way on the windows. I'll add the rest if it looks like a worse track tomorrow. Again though...I am more worried about flooding.

In all fairness, a Cat 3 or 4 that close to your home is nothing to take lightly, especially so for the Tampa bay area storm surge.
