How have we never won the ACC?

What is a traditional offense? The wing T? The Wishbone? The T formation? Yeah nobody has won **** running those offenses in decades. Just like nobody wins **** running the Coker T offense in 2025. The only team in the last decade that’s won a championship with defense and a weak offense was Michigan who couldn’t win without cheating. Outside of their one cheating season, they’re an 8 win program
Certainly not defending Michigan at all...

but I believe we can all agree, the winning programs have been "cheating" for a long, long, long time.

Now we are just talking doctrine, tactics, techniques, and procedures.

Started with the Shalala's genius move to hire Radio over Gary Patterson... tumbling down the dung heap since then..
Patterson would have been a very sneaky good hire… he ran an innovative defense at the time that have kept us ahead. Not to mention he liked spread offenses

Michigan had a weak offense? They were top 10-20 in every major category except passing yards. They scored 36 PPG

By all accounts, Miami was falling further and further behind in the bags arms race.

Is what it is, but I'm not certain Vince Lombardi could have kept the train rolling enough...

It didn’t start before that when the players hired Coker over Barry Alvarez?
The clap or herpes?
One won us a title, almost two, before shyting the bed. The other would not have won a title, but kept us just good enough to win 10 games a year for a few more years.

They were 69th in total offense. 54th in rushing offense. 83rd in passing offense.

Not anywhere near the top ten or even top 20.

It’s very hard to score a lot of points if you can’t move the ball consistently. You have to rrely on your defense giving you great field position and getting turnovers. That sort of thing is near impossible do do over multiple seasons. We saw it in 2018. All of the sudden we weren’t getting all the turnovers we got in 2017 and our scoring went into the toilet despite having pretty much all the same players on offense.

Michigan was 113th in scoring last year. Not the kind of fluctuations I want in my offense.

What did the article get wrong...I believe you are from the area?
I do live in the area. Not in Buford, but very close by. Up here, we have many very good public school districts, but Buford is a small district and they invest a lot in the school system. It’s top in the state for a reason, and not because of the football stadium. They do very well across the board in all educational metrics, and also in STEM and arts.

The article flat-out says that the district’s educational priorities are all out of wack for building the stadium. However, the author either failed to research the district or just wanted to put out a hit piece, because it puts that out there without any follow up whatsoever any without the details on the school district’s educational programs. Buford City built a brand new $85 million dollar campus for its schools in 2019. Mind you, this is a small, very rich district with only 5800 kids. The campus is gigantic and absolutely stunning. They call it the University of Buford because they have all the schools, from elementary to middle to high school on the same campus, by design.

It has two performing arts centers with all the latest and greatest technology for its award-winning theatre and department, a whole tech building with engineering, construction, and several computer science labs, a building for tech education, in-house daycare for the teachers, and a library that rivals colleges. They also invest plenty in all other sports in addition to football, including women’s sports, and have a full gymnastics facility and two additional artificial turf facilities for other sports too.

That stadium with apparel, food, ads, ticket prices, premium seating, etc will probably bring in 1-2 million a year. On top of being able to charge some outside people premium prices to use it

There whole athletic facility is insane.

Pretty sure most competent coaches could have navigated that Coker title team to a title, but that set the standard for coaching hire incompetence.
