How good was Dwayne the Rock Johnson?

93 maybe he came to my school with J Ina and spoke to our class. He was a nobody back then but being a huge canes fan as a kid already I never forgot it was Dwayne Johnson #94 . Think Ina wore 61

He only played interior at about 265lbs...Brought the most value to the Canes when every fight broke out he was first on the field from the bench intent on reaking havoc..
Quality 2nd teamer..

there's what roughly a 100 guys on a given college fb team, a good number of them will just average guys and depth players, he wasnt great but he did play in canada briefly before going in to wrestling. I read his memoir the Rock says years ago, he certainly had an interesting life and upbringing its a pretty good read.

There were unfair expectations from the start. Just because he looks and talks like Dolphins legend Spencer Strasmore doesn't mean he played like him.

The Rock was interviewed and was asked about his UM days. He said that Warren came into school and he knew after 3 practices that he wasn't going to start as long as Sapp was there.
We ran a 4-3. We used 2 tackles, not 1

Being behind Sapp and not gaining much recognition as football player is the best thing that's ever happened to him. He's made way more money just in the wrestling business, than he ever would have in football. And more in acting than both of those hypothetically combined.

He was better as a Cane than Lex Luger was. I still have hope that Tampa's own, Anthony "The Caveman" Chickillo, ends up as the best pro wrestler of the bunch though.

He was best at chasing down other teams mascots. We should have all seen wrestling in his future the way he went after that SDSU mascot.

Rock been in town shooting a movie and he been working out at my gym. Dudes works out hard!

He should've taken whatever he's currently on. Might've turned into a better player. Awesome dude though. One of my favorite Canes.

He actually was a talented player who had a bright future ahead of him until he tore his ACL. He never fully recovered. He could have been playing tackle next to Sapp.

He wasn't even close to better than Patrick Riley. The 1994 defense was not the same when Riley was lost for the season, and nothing was more apparent than the 1995 Orange Bowl game. Sapp was a man among boys but they kept double teaming him until he worn down. They didn't respect our other tackles. With Riley Nebraska would have had to account for him. Patrick was a very good college tackle.

Yep, Riley was one of the top recruits in the country and was a real talent.

He's got a reputation for being a real awesome dude. I know a lot of people that have run into him in the West Davie/Weston area.

His father (Rocky) used to work for my Dad at the Town of Davie Parks & Rec department. My pops said Dwayne was such a friendly, respectful and humble guy. You couldn't tell that he was a big time famous actor/athlete. #CoolStoryBro

He's definitely someone that Cane's fans should be extremely proud of.

The Miami version of Burt Reynolds. Clearly a better player and actor. Dewey would have started for Miami over the last ten years but on a good team he wasn't good enough. He was always one of the funniest guys around. When he walked into the room, even at 20 years old, everyone would stop what they were doing to chat with him or listen to one of his many stories.

Thanks for posting this Paranos. I just rewatched the whole game. I missed the days of dominating teams from whistle to whistle although the Canes made this game too close for comfort in the 4th quarter.
