How can we compete with this?

When your school is in East Bumfvck and you have a limited recruiting base near you, you need to build something like that to attract recruits. UM is blessed with being located in paradise in an international hotspot with great weather and the best football talent in the world surrounding the school.

OP, you should start rooting for Clemson. You seem to like the cut of their jib.

OP sees a fire pit in a house and pays a 25% premium for the home

Their football only facility(barbershop, lockeroom, slide, dining table, lounge area, basketball court and Other things will cost 51 million meanwhile miamis indoor practice facility will cost 34 million which includes a new weight room, coaching offices and will be a big upgrade for our football team.If shalala would have pushed facility upgrades in particular the ipf years ago when UM was rolling in money in the early 2000s or in the past decade when the school raised all of that money for the momentum campaign we wouldn't have to worry about building the ipf. However that's miamis most needed addition at this point. Miami does have some advantages over a bunch of the other schools including the fact that it's in a beautiful campus area. On top of that we the Hecht center is being updated, schwartz center opened a couple years ago, the new state of the art lennar foundation medical hospital just opened a few weeks ago and it's aesthetically pleasing to campus visitors. Miami is also about to undergo a 100 Million student housing renovation when that proposal past to have state of the art dorms. I'm sure we are going to be hearing more about upgrades pretty soon. With the acc bowl payout, adidas money coming in and other donations miami should be in the position to add some more things fairly soon here

Miami has cash, they recently just started to spend it... Shalala is no longer here anymore the money is being spent

Solid post. The school also recently announced a $100M Frost academic building for what I believe is for Chemistry and Engineering.

Also, UV to the OP for the Trollala mention lol

Facilities are getting out of hand ($). Check out Clemson's new football headquaters.

These types of upgrades make recruiting very difficult for schools without the cash or schools not willing to spend it. President Trollela going cheap for 10 + years almost killed us.

We need our IPF to be build like yesterday.

If a kid wants something at Clemson outside this - they can go look at a cow pasture and some trees along the fence row.

Miami has money? Well sure, but it's all relative. We have some nice contributors. But we simply do not have the money of Bama, or Clemson, or at least half of the SEC teams, or OSU or Michigan, or probably another 10-12 teams. If it was just about money we might not make the top 30. Thank goodness being great and a tradition is so much more.
True but this administration is more than ever committed to spending money on football. We are paying top dollar for a number of the assistants we got. **** the ipf will be the second most expensive ipf in football after marylands whose ipf is included as an overall complex

This is a bizarre perception many on this board have, and it's rooted in the idea that Shalala was the cause of the problems in this program.

Every good thing that has happened to this program over the past year is because Georgia fired Mark Richt. "Frenk's finalists" this time were the same finalists Shalala had, Mullen and Schiano. Richt is the one pushing for better facilities, not Frenk. We still don't even have enough money for the IPF!!! So to act like the administration is starting to funnel other monies that were previously set aside (to make the university respectable by the way) into the athletic programs is misguided and flat out wrong. We have more money in the program because Shalala took us to the ACC, took us to a new stadium, and took us to Adidas. So ask yourself why we all of a sudden have money to spend.

Facilities like that can be dangerous becuase they might start to attract the wrong type of recruits. Kids who don't have that true hunger and want to spend more time enjoying the facilities than honing their craft.

Look at this soft baby whining whining about "oh no, how can we compete"

Thank lawds our players aren't this soft. We have a subset of fans, the weak ones, that do nothing but suck on Bama, the SEC, and other facilities while whining about our facilities.

Our facilities, right now are serviceable, and once the IPF is completed will be more than enough to either help, or not hurt, in recruiting. The rest is just fluff and irrelevant. Fountains and marble toilets are nice but won't sway a recruit in the slightest, as long as your facilities are somewhat comparable. With the IPF, we'll compare favorably.

Look at the "tough guy" being tough on the Internet for up votes. I swear you faaags are funny acting like this doesn't make an impression on kids. Step outside of the CIS world and realize we're competing for the same kids.

people go to osu and Michigan despite the fact its **** cold there, people go to Oregon when chip Kelly was there even though there is nothing to do there,

the fact is if u win kids will come to your school no matter what facilities are, winning fixes everything. plus this staff knows how to recruit and will try to keep south Florida's best home, plus Miami's facilities aren't as bad as most make out. there have been upgrades done for the last 5 yrs or more.

the fact is the facilities today are much better then where when butch and jj were coaching.

OP you ever been to Clemson or the surrounding area?

I have an it's not as bad as people make it out to be. Not as fun as Miami, but many times that's what gets our players in trouble. Plus not every 17/18 year old kids is into clubbing and drinking on Miami beach. These kids are interested in football first and foremost. And that's why they go to country places that breathe football.

South beech **** is played out.

Far as I can remember,.. We've never been known nationally for our facilities,.. Or slides,.. Put put golf,.. Or any other nonsense!! We have however,.. Been known to have (at one point in time in our past) to be one of the scrapiest, hardest working, never say die, football programs in america!! With the right staff,.. And a showing,, the players will show up!....with the right staff,.. And more players (with the never say die mentality..or ..dogs if you will)..the better the showing!! The better the showing,.. With the same core staff,.. The more wins....the more....the more................!!!! It takes time,.. Not a fu€kin slide!! Just watch,....you can see this thing happening right before your eyes! We have everything we need right in our back yard,.. The biggest deficiancy,.a legacy left behind by,..a ****er..a shenanigan,..and a tie wearing bafoon!!

This is what schools with $$ and nothing to do there have to build to attract kids. Just swing ours though South Beach and KOD and I think kids will take that over this giant facility.

This is the **** you build to convince kids from Miami to come to East Bum Fvck for 4 years.

I posted a Bloomberg article from a few weeks ago that talked about how many P5 schools had gotten into heavy debt trying to improve their football/sports facilities. If I remember correctly Cal Berkeley owed something like $150MM, which was unlikely they could ever pay back. Maybe they should start charging admission fees to rioters....

So OP is a Clemsum fan. Got it.

Thank you for the intellectual imput. Yea i been trolling for over 400 post. ******

You trolled that dj Johnson thread a weekend and a half before signing day

Broke, you troll everythread when you pretend to know everything and by being the CIS police. You even derail threads with your steak preferences.

I asked a question of why we were visiting DJ if he was considered a "lock". Someone said that we never used an OV on him and that was it. Even franchise agreed with me when I said "well I guess DJ isn't a lock". Which no one is cause McFarland was suppose to be a "lock". I'm glad DJ stuck.

The problem here is too many tough guys pretending they know things. I ask questions cause I'm not afraid of the downvote button. People here are shook and they wait for someone to post something, then pile on them to build themselves up. Like this is real life or something.
