How bad was it?

Both.

Dawson had TVD looking good for awhile. Nearly 500 yards and 4-5 TDs beating TAMU. TVD mentally imploded and that was that.

Cam was a phenom talent. Teams could not stack the box against Fletcher and Martinez because Cam would take their lunch money and throw over their heads to X, Horton, George, and Arroyo. All of the above except Fletcher are gone.

This season we're stuck with Beck's limitations, losing Martinez and the WR/TE room. No reliable blocking TEs. A new WR room with a mix of mercenaries like CJ, Marion, and Johnson, and youngsters like Toney, Upshaw, and Moore. Trader has talent but an enigma.

The problems are a poor coaching response to losing so much production.

Dawson has been very mediocre...

You and @Cribby are straight spitting facts.

Beck is @DMoney 's blind spot. He can't see what he is, because he won a lot of games as UGA's starting QB. Guess what? Not 1 single UGA fan would take Beck back over Stockton, and Stockton isn't a NFL QB.

I also am not the biggest Dawson fan, but our issues on offense are more about the QB position than the OC IMO.

If we had C.J. Bailey, Lenoris Sellers, and yes Mendoza this offense would be much more explosive, and overall harder to defend.

Pray Miami lands one of these dynamic types in portal for next season, and the defense improves in year 2 under Hetherman, and I think Miami will make their first CFB playoff.
But the OC had a say in what QB they went after right? If not than he’s a fool for not cashing in on last years success and moving on to a HC spot.

Yeah I wouldn’t mind a dual threat next year..no more statues unless they are the second coming of Tom Brady

Beck or Quarterbacks…

Might I add, I don't think it was particularly smart to bring in a starting QB who could only begin to throw post spring. Chemistry, timing and all.

Somehow this offense is still top 30 in SP+, FPI, and Success Rate. But 45th in EPA/play.

Its cause we're top like 20 in most pass categories, but running we're in the like 80s or lower.

There were moments where Dawson's tendencies showed through out the game but honestly Trader was responsible for the death of three of our drives in the first half. He loafed on a deep cross and Beck caught the heat on the throw but if you watch the replay trader lazily breaks and then doesnt finish his route with effort. He didn't work back the the ball strong enough on another intermediate hook route and then dropped a mesh crosser that would have been a big play. Trader killed the offense in the first half.
Not only that but he’s killing this team. His drop the week before totally changed the game against SMU. I am beyond done talking about this kid, it clearly hasn’t worked out and it would be for the best if he moves on. I’m done with it.

Sets up for caneville to ask Dawson in the weekly presser why did they stop targeting JoJo!?

The offense is painfully average. We have 9 games of data now. It’s been painfully average all year. It was slightly better yesterday? But we are who we are, a slow, average offensive team with a good defense.

If you want some positivity, we did average 6.75 a play yesterday, which was the highest number against any P4 team this year (Bethune and USF were higher, no one else). 61 yard TDs help out a lot. Would be cool to have more of those, but I won’t hold my breath. We had like 63 yards on the first 21 plays against a high school team. Syracuse is ******* pathetic.

I do think we have a shot to beat NC state because their defense is awful. So they’ll make our offense look better than it is. And I trust our defense to keep us in the game against anyone. IMO we match up better with good offense/bad defense teams than the opposite.
The last 20 years i have been saying like everyone else but why can't miami ever try to outscheme other teams and utilize our talent to the best of it's ability? We always try to fit the players to the coaches desired scheme. Its why we haven't won the acc conference one year since 2004.

Mario shouldn't need a roster full of NFL players to just win the acc if he adjusts the scheme to fit his talent and players.

Maybe he doesnt know how or he is too stubborn. It is beyond frustrating as a fan.

Since Daniels Is out now we should start mixing in some up tempo, get the ball to our playmakers in space, spread teams out wide even with Pringle, Toney, Upshaw, Moore, etc. Run wide, jet sweeps, pitches, not just once a game but multiple times. If we are using beck trust him to not make a mistake. Can't coach scared and expect to win. Be aggressive, even if we lose, go down fighting and give other teams a lot to prepare for.

Adjust our blocking scheme if needed. Mix things up.

I am done letting him get reps in crunch time for now but not ready to write him off. He does flash when he is on the field. He is certainly the type to transfer out and mature into what we all hoped he would be or completely flame out and get arrested. He has stuck it out for a bit. If he hangs around he could still turn the corner.

He shouldn't see the field until we are up 3 scores and then work him in but we cant count on him right now. If Daniels makes it back thats probably what his role will be and at this point that is probably more than he deserves.

I like his talent but right now thats all hes got needs to work on his mental and effort. I am certain the coaches are not shocked by the mistakes he has made in the last two games but disappointed that he failed to seize his opportunity just like we all are.

I knew Mario wasn’t the sharpest knife in the drawer

I still underestimated him when it came to giving Beck that much money

I didn’t sit around watching UGA games the last few years so I didn’t really know that much about him

He’s pretty awful and as much as I wanna nitpick Dawson or Mirabal or whoever else we are blaming this week…it’s Beck

Beyond that it’s the colossal moron that thought we should pay him 4 mill or whatever it ends up being

My thing is the only QB who played for both staffs (Diaz/Mario) is TVD. How did Lashlee have TVD, who threw picks in his offense, looking so good to then just fall apart under Mario/Dawson?

In 21 TVD threw 3 picks in a 1 score loss against UNC and then followed it up going 3-0 in 1 score games throwing 10 TDs 1 INT. Threw the 2 picks against FSU and then finished the season 2-0 with 6 TDS and no ints.

2022 was Gattis and Mario. Don’t even need to discuss it. But then 23 he started hot with Dawson, had the 4 picks against GT but then never recovered. Why is that? Lashlee was able to get him right after the UNC 3 pick game. Why couldn’t Dawson and Mario? Could the same be true with Beck? Yeah Beck had it bad last year. Lot on him, lot on Bobo and the receivers too.

My point being, I see a lot of teams with very very mid QBs. Those teams still perform as well as we do but they also don’t have the RBs, OL, and receivers we do. It seems Mario and Dawson don’t have answers if a player isn’t able to perform at the level they think they should.
