Homer and the draft

I’ve gotten between 3-5 from multiple scouts

Listen to this man.

I've said 8 million times on this board, the NFL doesn't care about how you play college football. Are you big, strong, and fast? That's it. Homer will test well. And he will be drafted. Those things being said, he should and will leave.

Im totally serious. Homer runs bigger than his size and has run multiple sub. 4.4 forty's. He has not shown any propensity to fumble. The only knock will be on his vision but I've been friends with an NFL exec who is in charge of drafting/signing free agents. Measurables are like crack to those guys.

One man's opinion.

I don't recall, truthfully, but what round was Duke drafted in? Walton went in the 4th?

He's got very good hands too. But RBs catching out of the backfield is not in the 6-play MIAMI playbook.

I think Homer should leave as well and see him going between the 4th-5th round. It's a weak draft for RB's so there's a lot movement that'll happen with RB rankings.

I'm just amazed people would think Walton would be a 2nd-3rd rounder but Homer would go undrafted.

Homer is more productive, so much better an athlete, so much better a special teams player. Walton may have been a better blocker and receiver, but not by that much.

That's more realistic. Not saying that Homer won't be drafted. But saying he'll be a 1st rounder because he runs fast and is tough is not realistic.
I concur. I think if he comes back next year and has an uptick in production he can possibly elevate himself to being a second day pick. I just don't see him being a 1st round pick this year or next year.

Excellent point. Homer will test MILES better than Walton did.

Homer will make more money in the NFL than at Miami.
No matter where he is drafted..

i'd be willing to bet anyone a grand Homer ain't going in the 2nd or 3rd round.Love the kid but the reality of the thing is there are 50 11 better backs out there better than him and with the downtrend toward RB's in the league when even good ones get pushed down a couple rounds there's no way he goes that high.

Any Takers ?????

He is nothing special. Running backs in nfl are a dime a dozen. He might get drafted but I doubt if he will have an nfl career. He is a tweener. Not fast enough to be a burner. And not big enough to be a bruiser.

1). I have always been exponentially higher on Homer than Dallas, both as a college player and pro prospect.

2). Running backs have a shorter shelf life than most athletes, Frank Gore's deal with the devil aside. lol. So I fully expect Homer to leave after this season.

3). I see him being a day one draft pick. He'll run a sub 4.4 forty at the UM pro day and will have plenty of film of him both running hard and showing breakaway speed. In short, he runs the way NFL GM's like.

If I had to guess today, I'd say late 2nd round, 3rd at the latest.
This post is one big bag of ****

A lot of same people thinking that Homer will be an nfl back also thought Berrios would make it in the nfl. We have only a few nfl quality players on current roster. Willis, Jaquan, Jackson and a few more. In our glory days, every year, we would routinely have a few first rounders and a dozen or so others in later rounds. Our overall talent level has fallen dramatically.

Homer plays tough, I dont Think he’s been all the way healthy this year(see being caught vs uva) but he will test wells at the combine in a weak rb class if he chooses to come out.

If he leaves so be it, love the kids attitude and work ethic but I don't see him nothing more than a lot round flyer or UFA at this point. Another year doesn't likely change that either but hopefully he decides to return.
