Heurtelou signs with Miami

grimble was a bust. briscoe and ivery rather play video games than work hard. Pierre was not a big recruit. Earl Moore was a solid 3 star but he was pushed into action too early. Jelani is a top recruit who has the injury bug. they have tried.

Kamalu. Junior Alexis. Darius Smith. Corey King.

Bostwick, Keef, Bain, Goldman...all recruited, didn't come.

They've tried. Criticize them for not getting top targets and having flame outs, sure, but it's ignorant to say they haven't been recruited.

Kamalu is legit. the other guys were last minute jag's/fill in's. no one claimed them to be superstar potential guys.

Bostwick and Keef went to schools they perceived were on top. Bain and Goldman werent really recruited as hard as them.

Kamalu is a DE not a DT.

3 years later....Golden has finally recruited some guys to play DT. Better late than never I guess.

He's absolutely right.

No, he's not. Plenty of DT's have been recruited. Some flamed out, some trolled, some didn't come, some are still developing, but they've always been recruited.

We missed on every DT last year when we had a huge need and demand. That is fact and he is only pointing out the truth that hurts. Outside of this year we haven't gotten any DTs that have had major offers elsewhere and their production has been exposed why. Moten, Valentine, Wyche and Hertoleau aren't in the same class as Corey King, Earl Moore and Darius Smiths coming out of high school or transferring in.

So this year's class is far and away the best in many years becasue of these DTs. I agree. Throw in the rest of the Dline recruits coming and the conerstone has been set.

Let's put it this way, DT was a position where we were having trouble getting production on the field and this was because ___________ (insert reason below):

1. DTs that came into the program didn't pan out [D. Smith, J. Grimble, D. Ivery, J. Briscoe]

2. DTs that are in the program and are young and/or not ready to put in quality burn [E. Moore and C. King]

3. DTs that we recruited went elsewhere [K. Bryant and J. Bostwick]

4. Perhaps the coaching/scheme has something to do with it

The bottom line is in 2013 we brought in Renfrow as a filler. This year we brought in 2 Quality EE JUCO DTs in Wyche and Hertelou who combined held offers from Bama, LSU, Auburn, UF, USC, FSU and a bunch of others. In addition, we are adding Valentine, Moton and Jenkins. The DT recruiting may have been an issue of the past but now we fixed it.

We have 2 JUCO DTs who will come in early and compete with Pierre, Moore, King, Hamilton/Kamalu (maybe they will pay some DT) for playing time. Even if Hamilton or Kamalu don't play any DT, we have a 5 DTs before the freshman need to step on the field.

The recruitment of DTs was a problem, we now have current talent who can contribute in the spring and future talent who can be brought along slowly (as the DT position should be). Now coach them up. So stop BlTCHlNG about DT recruiting, if you are going to complain about something try production and development but keep it off the recruiting board.
