considering that Manny Sr. is a Belen grad and a Democrat and the Mas family are Columbus grads and Republicans, there are some interesting dynamics at play

Go back to the very first post:

"It is important to understand the players here. Frenk knows what he doesn't know, so he appointed two trusted people to act on his behalf with the football nitty-gritty: Joe Echevarria (CEO of UHealth) and Rudy Fernandez (Chief of Staff to the President).

The two are considered excellent complements of each other. Echevarria is a Bronx Puerto Rican who grew up with a single mom and rose all the way to CEO of Deloitte. He is also the CEO of Obama's My Brother's Keeper Alliance. Fernandez is a Cuban, Miami-born Harvard grad who worked in the George W. Bush White House. He is very in tune with governmental relations, while Echevarria is a business guy."

Politics is not coming into play here.

Idk, but given the trajectory of the sport in this country and how states like ours are slowly becoming minority-majority (i.e. more Latinos and Blacks from the Caribbean than Caucasians), it’s insane how we are not making the leap as a country to run things like Europe when it comes to soccer. We certainly have the capital and resources to do it.

P.S. Sorry for possible derailment just passing the time relieving anxieties about this AD hire lol
It is moving in that direction, and has been for decades. Not trying to be rude, but your comment shows you don't follow the sport.

Very few schools with football teams can accommodate it. Every school with a football team has 3-4 more women’s sports than men’s sports since football uses so many scholarships. And we have an insane federal government that wants to micromanage these things with title IX
Yet they forget who brings in the money, so dumb. Ten years from now a bunch of dudes are going to file a lawsuit citing discrimination.
