Here's what I know

I’m assuming there’s an AD as well like Jurich

Oregon OC went to the hospital the morning of the Stanford game to have emergency surgery.

Stanford also started a new QB that game and that dude and his WRs were on fire. Oregon still almost came back and won.

The Utah game, Oregon was a road dog with a flawed QB. Once Utah broke it open with that punt return TD, Oregon had to turn to the passing game and Brown just isn’t good enough when teams know they have to pass.
I know Moorhead was gone for a few of the games. hes still not ideal in terms of what id want us to run based on our personnel. hes pretty much in line w Marios philosophy. Stanford is also trash this year. Oregon even w all that should win comfortably. they don't put away teams often which is fine as long as they're winning but for 7 mill expectations are ratcheted up. Oregon having to rely on a transfer in his fourth season is on him and his staff evaluations at QB. so yes brown sucks but that's on them for not having a guy ready to step in year 4. even d money said their QB room is a mess.

the problem with close games for me esp against inferior teams is that they're all 50-50 and you shouldn't need a bounce of a ball or a random stroke of luck in a game to be the reason why you won or lost bc the margins are that close. we've been in 50-50 games since MSU and we could have easily won all of them or lost all of them (VT was really the only one with a double digit lead late). does that make Manny a great coach if he only has 2 losses instead of 5? no, hes still the same trash can as an HC. its all fools gold and it catches up to you (see Utah for Oregon this year or our season in 17 when we did get exposed).

Fantastic info and insight @DMoney!

The Columbus Cartel. It almost always comes down to who you know and past relationships built through a multitude of avenues. Sure going to be interesting the next few days/weeks.
Yeah this is like an episode from Narcos. The Columbus Cartel going to the mattresses with the Diaz Family and Associates. Manny Sr,. Will be played by Al Pacino. “ Say hello to my little Son”. Money will be spread, tears will be shed. Get out the ***ing popcorn.

considering that Manny Sr. is a Belen grad and a Democrat and the Mas family are Columbus grads and Republicans, there are some interesting dynamics at play

@Cribby @DMoney

It sounds like there is a ton of momentum to have Alonzo H brought on board. One component that has never been made clear, and especially with someone like Jurich potentially being hired as AD, what is your understanding of Alonzo’s role?

I stated this in another thread that the majority on CIS assume the football program gets completely carved out and handed to Zo to run. I have a differing opinion on Zo’s scope of responsibility and focus

IMO he'd have a large role in scouting, highschool outreach programs, player development etc.

As long as he's on board with the HCs vision and not overstepping into an ADs role I don't understand some people pushing back and not believing it would work.

Clemson and BAMA have people in these roles and it alleviates some of it from the coaching staff which I think is a positive.

I understand skepticism if you assume he's fully autonomous all things football and the HC answers to him and not the AD, but I don't get the sense this would be the case.
