Here's what I know

Heard Hernandez used his Al Golden connections to get a deal with muscle milk and has hired Gus Felder as his fitness guru.

I've heard Tony was switching to Fight Milk...

It is moving in that direction, and has been for decades. Not trying to be rude, but your comment shows you don't follow the sport.
We’re moving in that direction sure, but I haven’t heard of us being close to having the same system in place as the Europeans where stars are being homegrown at a young age at these clubs in these massive facilities with the best trainers money can buy.

Do enlighten me if I’m being obtuse

Significant rise in homegrown US players coming up through US-based youth programs and MLS-affiliated academies. Not yet up to Euro standards, but getting there.

Believe it or not, NONE of the big 3 in Florida have men’s soccer. Pretty crazy given the potential amount of talent coming into SoFlo from Latin America tbh
The best players get picked up by soccer academies but it’s inexcusable to not have men’s soccer teams at those schools the way the sport is growing here in the US

Cutting men's golf was ridiculous. Miami saves 4.5 scholarships. Men's Swimming is limited to 9.9.

Back to lacrosse, it is 12.6 scholarships for men's and 12.0 for women's. Difference with lacrosse is it is a definitely a prep school sport and those kids come from generally wealthy families with very good grades and academic standing. To me it is a no brainer. There are very few warm weather lacrosse programs and Miami could draw from the right demographic. If you are a Canuck, you would rather play in South Bend or Miami in February? You can play on Cobb in the spring, too.
IDK what is up with LAX now but it was a club sport , along with hockey, during the years my kids were there (2012-2020)

We're not close to them. But the youth squad model is now in use at every MLS club and the youth systems are expanding massively. More clubs are getting built by the day.

Process is slow, and there will never be the same per capita concentration of clubs. But that's exactly the model that MLS clubs are now following.
