Here's what I know

Believe it or not, NONE of the big 3 in Florida have men’s soccer. Pretty crazy given the potential amount of talent coming into SoFlo from Latin America tbh
Because of Title IX – a federal civil rights law prohibiting *** discrimination in education — having men's soccer would mean men's athletics at the Florida schools would outnumber women's, which is prohibited under the law.

Butch was fired for entrenched UNC practices that had been going on for decades - he was PROVEN he had nothing to do with any of it - and we still have zeroes here that think he did something wrong - and also conveniently forget UM screwed him on contract negotiations.

And we haven't been worth **** since Butch's players started graduating.

Maybe UM learns their lesson this time - and realize this is business - big business - and you get the best man for the job - even if he's not perfect - like the Administration is - or the BOT is - you know, all perfect?

Forget the academic scandal while he was there.

What about Blake and his show cause? He was getting paid by an agent. Butch brought him in, that's on him as CEO. Heavy is the head who wears the crown, but that was serious, and he was responsible for hiring him and his actions. Butch admitted he screwed up by hiring him and not doing enough due diligence. That brought a lot of shame to the program and university.

He also had some 6-10 players who were getting paid by agents while at UNC. Thats almost a third of your starters. And that came out before the academic scandal, so the stink was already on the program BEFORE the grades thing came down. And I am not even considering that many feel he absolutely should have known about what was going on with academics and if he didn't know that's just as bad. But don't go there, because as I said I am not even considering that.

It's a bad look for a head coach/CEO and only in Butch circles do they not understand why he was let go. Perception is as important as incidents, and he failed on both counts. It sucks, because he had a lot of success there, and is a good guy, and WAS a good coach, but that's why top coaches and executives are compensated so well. They have to work on the edge, when when it goes south, they have been taken care of.

I think the ultimate gauge on him is the fact that none of the top 129 programs in America (FIU is probably 130 and just fired him) want anything to do with him nor have them for over a decade. It's a pretty liquid market, and it has spoken.

Are we ******* stupid?
Idk, but given the trajectory of the sport in this country and how states like ours are slowly becoming minority-majority (i.e. more Latinos and Blacks from the Caribbean than Caucasians), it’s insane how we are not making the leap as a country to run things like Europe when it comes to soccer. We certainly have the capital and resources to do it.

P.S. Sorry for possible derailment just passing the time relieving anxieties about this AD hire lol

The school is arranging a buffet in celebration of their new AD Tony Hernandez.

As you can imagine, it will take quite some time to get the food required to accommodate Pedro Griffin.

Croquetas and mango and guava flavored Kool-Aid on the menu
