Here's what I know

This thread is comedy. You have the Mario posters going in on the Kiffin posters. Then you have the Kiffin posters arguing back why Kiffin deserves it more. Meanwhile, you have one dude off to the side barking about Hugh Freeze and neither side is listening to him
IMO Lane, Herman & Freeze are all interchangeable.

That’s why I’ve tried to explain a million times over in these threads it’s not Mario vs anti-Mario for me...

It’s one Philosophy vs another. The problem is, the moment you ask a question or even consider another possibility people immediately go into defense mode & make it as if you hate Mario, that’s where all the conflict is coming from.

All I know is that he would have money for staff.

Two of his previous OCs became head coaches and his current OC was a recently fired HC.

If it is Mario as UM's next head coach do you think he would make a serious at run Jeff Lebby or dare I say keep Rhett Lashlee?

Bringing in Lebby would solve Mario's OC/QB development issue for 3-4 yrs, he developed QB's at Baylor, UCF, and Ole Miss (alongside Kiffin). The draw to Miami would be for the first time Lebby would be on his own without an offensive minded head coach peering over his shoulder. He is Making $1.2MM now so I am thinking $1.5MM for 4 years gets him to Coral Gables. The buzz at UM is reinvestment in football an funding for enhanced staff so this would follow that path.

Go Canes

the team Utah is now in November, isn't the one from Sept

Teams are allowed to get better(or worse). They are now rolling with their new QB(who didnt start off the year)

Bingo.

"Utah started 1-2 and made a quarterback change to Cameron Rising that has paid off, all while playing with heavy hearts through the death of cornerback Aaron Lowe in late September. Utah will play for the Pac-12 championship, and Saturday showed that they’ll probably be favored to win it."

IMO would be a horrendous hire as an OC.

This offense is ready made to be lethal, Ponce has only been a play caller at the HS level & just recently became OC at App St, during his previous years at App under Satterfield he never called plays.

Miami needs a proven killer lab technician OC that can take the QB & all the weapons we have & turn them into a high octane machine. We don’t have time to be experimenting with OC’s, our identity is Passing to set up the run, any OC that’s coming here to try to transform us into a Run first team is just gonna make his job that much harder & set us behind the 8ball as a team.

We need to lean into our strengths offensively, not try to reinvent the wheel. You give the right OC TVD, Knighton, George, Key Smith, Brinson, Restrepo, B Smith, Mallory & Arroyo & he’ll turn it into a high powered productive unit.

Steve Sark might be available by next year

How would you feel if Mario could land Herman as an OC? Would that ease your concern on his hire?

Great to hear that they're trying...

What can't happen is they get desperate and give in to silly demands from the candidate they're all in on.

Richt wasn't a bad hire, but letting him call plays and his kid coach QBs made it a bad hire. Letting a coach like Patke with no credentials have control over any portion of this team is a mistake. Only way the program gets out of this hole is with good coaching/leadership top to bottom and allowing unqualified bums to continue having important roles is going to land us in the same place as always.

It's fair, and the truth is none of know how this will turn out. My problem is when people act like 2018 Cristobal is the same as 2021 Cristobal.

I don't want Cristobal because he's a recruiter with Miami ties. I want Cristobal because he's proven he can win the conference, win big games and win big-time recruiting battles.

Reading the back and forth on this I just don’t really get who people assume is out there that is absolutely a perfect hire? Nick Saban and Urban Meyer aren’t looking for a job.

We should absolutely be ecstatic that we have a shot at a coach thats had multiple P5 conference championships and bowl wins.

Lashlee is taking over at Dodge City CC and will be filming the next 3 seasons of Last Chance U. Contact is with school and Netflix.

He's 8-8 in road games in the Pac-12. So when we doesn't play top 10 teams and goes on the road in conference there is a 50/50 proposition that he'd lose.
So now our standard is "road games in conference?"

OK. I prefer "wins," "conference championships" and "Top 10 wins," but let's use that bizarre standard.

Lane Kiffin is 11-11 in conference road games at USC/Ole Miss. I assume that's your candidate based on your prior posts. Should we drop him?

Totally agree. I worry that Mario's offensive philosophy would not be compatible with this.
