Here's what I know on Mark Matthews...

Another thing to keep in mind, this visit is early. He’ll still OV to aTm after.
The recent trend has been to get your key recruits on campus the first week or at worst the second week. Many kids end up committing and never visiting schools at the end of their OV schedule. Our OV schedule is extremely front end loaded this year.

Looks like I'm going to have to crunch the #s in the thread below to back up this statement 👇🏾

Thank you for that clarificayshun. Despite the 5,000 comments I’ve made on this site (that’s pathetic, but that’s on me), it never once occurred to me that Frank Tucker, Smiff the Sniff, Field, et al were actually the ones in the recruiting department. I always assumed Dennis Smiff was the alter ego of Mario. A pseudonym or nom de plume if you’re fancy. I thought Frank Tucker was really Jorge Mas, out in the skreets offering bags.

That’s all sarcasm. I hope the optics come across for the rest of the folks on here. :)

Texas A&M really been a thorn in our side when it comes to recruiting ever since Shemar Stewart. The crazy thing is, they haven't really won a **** thing even with all their great recruiting classes.
*they haven't won a **** thing.

Using the word really as a qualifier makes your statement appear as though they've actually done something since Bear Bryant was there

That’s just not true, it benefits for the following reasons.

1) you start getting paid early. Sure you are getting broken off for visits but this was you start getting the real money fast.
2) all the money is finite but demand keeps going up. Even an 8-4 will run out of money in a given cycle.

Look there is a reason why these kids are deciding sooner rather than later the past few cycles.
Actually many can earn NIL deals in HS. Entirely possible being committed and signed can net you more money…
Should have been more clear, there are benefits of course. Just my opinion if you are DJ or MM caliber, you will always have a spot and resources will be around for them until NSD, they are legit plus one's for a reason. The likelihood of you finding an elite OL prospect in the portal isn't a sure thing(DL you can find a couple good ones).

99% of kids can't operate that way, but the elite of the elite have the leverage. Players that elite already have brand deals with Nike(basketball) or Adidas(football). Different sport, but look how Tyran Stokes leveraged Kentucky and Kansas. As NSD approaches, coaches and programs get desperate.

TAMU about to sacrifice 3 popeye the sailor men to land MM
I don’t believe nobody knows where he ends up . Still want that Maryland ot . If he commits to bad unless we have money like that 🤷‍♂️ this kids recruitment is unpredictable . I wouldn’t be shocked to see lsu come in drop a bigger bag than Texas a$m and us .

I’ve said it once in here and I’ll say it again. I’ll believe this kid is going to Texas A&M when I see him sign his NLI there. This dude is the best OL in the country from our backyard and our coach is Mario Cristobal. This kid will be a cane. There’s just no scenario where it makes any kind of sense for him to go elsewhere.

no scenario? are you sure?
Not one that makes sense (to us at least lmao)

This coach isn’t jimbo I believe this is his 3rd full year . Texas A&M is here to stay too . Vandy , Texas A&M , lsu nd , bama , usc , Texas , Miami !! , few other are here to stay in nil . We spent a lot
last class in the trenches . This one is going to be less kids @ ol / dl . Just my guess

This should be one those situations where we always be on the wrong end. We move into a territory and get ahead for a player, then the local powerhouse up the Benjamins and they spurn us. While our insiders tell us he was ready to commit.

This should be what happens here in our benefit. I have no doubt we will always have really good OLs as long as Cristobal is here. But having múltiple 5 stars on the OL is the difference between having a really good OL and having an all time great OL. If he eventually goes hopefully we get Mr Olubobola.
Was i cookiing?

Need this
Can’t claim to be the best oline coaches and stud recruiter and lose this guy in you back yard
