Here's what I know on Mark Matthews...

I’ve said it once in here and I’ll say it again. I’ll believe this kid is going to Texas A&M when I see him sign his NLI there. This dude is the best OL in the country from our backyard and our coach is Mario Cristobal. This kid will be a cane. There’s just no scenario where it makes any kind of sense for him to go elsewhere.

Don’t believe the hype. We paying for the visit on account of the optics. aTm gone pay more in the end.
Honest question man and this is a hypothetical, flip the logos in this story... Rumor is a player is going to A&M since day 1, then as commitment day approaches stories and rumors start swirling he is going to Miami for an insane bag, Fong switches his pick from long standing front runner A&M to miami, then on the eve of committing said prospect pumps the breaks and decides to take an OV back to A&M a few weeks later and lets also say this prospect lives in Texas, as a MIAMI fan, are you confident that A&M is just paying for a visit and he is still good as gold in this class or would you be saying he gone?

Because that is literally what is happening.

It was just assumed by everyone he was a lock here because he’s an OL from the area. You know what the saying is about assuming? Also, when was he on the eve of committing recently?

And yes to your hypothetical.

Read the post above from the A&M board, I think last week of April someone on Rivals (like a reporter) said he made a decision and was ready to commit and knew where he was going, now A&M writer is saying we did enough that he will be "delaying" his decision, not saying he comes but this is what you need to do to stay in the fight.

These are 17 year old kids. They play everyone they don’t end up signing with. If Matthews wanted to come to Miami, he would have already committed. You guys just don’t get played by this EJ dude who’s just looking for clout and a check himself and got ran out of Michigan for selling subscribers false hope

UM was getting played back in 2012. This is 2026 and recruiting is entirely different now and UM has a coach that can adapt to this style of recruiting.

UM had nothing to sell 2012 but past glory and none of the top players really envisioned themselves here compared to now though. Plus UM is cutting checks too

Maybe. But Mario doesn’t seem like he’d just pay to get a local talent to visit and then lose him. Honestly, going for broke and still losing him is worse than if he had committed to TAMU last week like was assumed. Optics are worse the more we “beg” this kid to stay. Him visiting us and not coming here is worse tenfold.
