Here Y’all Go Lol

It’s true though. As usual, you just get it. When people say there will be changes on the Defense, it doesn’t excite me too much because idk wtf that even means? If Patke and Rumph are gone but Baker isn’t then it’s pinga. In addition, if Baker is gone then my next question is, will the next DC be legit and bring their own system and people? If not, it’s groundhogs day.
Manure will tell us if he's truly interested in being the long term HC here depending on what he does with the D this offseason. If he doesn't turn it over to an autonomous guy like Marcus Freeman, then he's more interested in his ego than he is in winning here.

It's easy for him to can an offensive staff he barely even knew. Canning your buddies is a completely different game. Not only would he be greasing his sons, but he'd be acknowledging that his D needs to be changed. That takes a lot of guts and smarts and subjugation of ego. Does he have that sort of self-awareness and ability to be honest with himself? We shall see.

Diaz has been in this defense his whole career. I don’t see him saying now it needs to change. He didn’t give it up after byu ran all over his ***. He tweaked the scheme some and that’s it.
Just let it play out. You’ve said this in multiple threads now lol. We get that you don’t think he’s going to make changes.

Baker and Manure's rinky dink scheme are the only things that matter. The rest is window dressing to appease buffoons. "Look, bro, he fired Rump, bro. That's what we've been calling for, bro. Manny gets it, bro."
The slurpers will line up to defend that. It’s already being set into action. All of a sudden if we don’t get cucked on D in the bowl game then that’s what Manny was waiting for.

I don’t know about that because he would’ve said that there aren’t gonna be any staff changes instead he said he didn’t wanna talk about it.
Manure is likely praying for that ****** Okie State offense to lay an egg like it's done most of this season. Then, he can tell the dummies 778 yards was an aberration and they everyone was burned out from COVID. Then hope ND goes back to independent and King leads us to a Coastal title.

He doesn't want to fire his son, Baker, so he can fire Rump, son Banda takes the Utah State job, he brings in a couple former Canes to replace those guys appeasing the "yeah bros", and everyone's drinking the bathwater again.

Giving Baker a shot under that scenario doesn't make sense though. He certainly hasn't earned it given this year's performance. He also doesn't recruit. Banda was the only guy who could recruit on defense. That major void has to be filled with someone with a little more bonafides than a guy like Baker.

I think it sets up pretty well for Manny to make the moves he needs to revamp the defense in your scenario due to Banda's likely departure.
I'm more skeptical than some a yall. His offensive redo was not sensitive for him because he ain't the offensive coach and so he didn't internalize the failure. Blame Enos, move on. Get rid of Enos's guys and keep the locals. That's easy and obvious.

Manny is close to Baker and Manny knows its his D that has failed. So what does he do without baker? Who even wants to work for manny on D without control? It's a mess for him.

Manny coulda had Highsmith, but he is too weak to take help from people who could be a threat.

What many coaches don’t get is that winning is the biggest ego booster of all

He was also smart enough to keep Field and Hickson through the changes

He has already been blaming being mentally fatigued and brought up the clemson game and other shît

He's a good salesman, and he knows he's smarter than most of the fanbase. He can feed idiots stupid excuses like that, and most of them never think to themselves "Isn't every other team going through the same pandemic? Didn't we just have a 3 week rest? Didn't we just bully Duke into oblivion after that 3 week break looking fresher than we had all year?"

His whole career here will come down to what he does with the D this offseason. He might still fail even if he makes the switch to an autonomous DC. But he'll definitely fail if he doesn't.

I still have flashbacks and shudder when I think back to that game. You know what’s crazy, it actually felt worse than 778 yards. When I looked at the box score after the game, I was like, only 778?

that’s what an average defense (not a good one) would give up in 2 full games. Yikes.

The scheme must go, or at least move to multiple looks. Even with a massive talent upgrade at LB and CB, we would still have been picked apart by Clemson and UNC and lost those games. The score would have been closer, but the outcome would have been an L in both cases.

2015 Golden fired because he won't fire Dorito and give up control of the defense
2018 Richt retires because he won't fire his son and give up control of the offense
2021-22 Diaz fired / given a raise because he wouldn't / would fire Baker and give up control of the defense. ... what's it gonna be?

I'm not holding my breath.

Another fun fact: 'might' here means 'almost certainly will'

If Diaz cares about winning, he fires them.

If he doesnt, some of yall get your wish.

Cribby has said what he wanted to say. Be patient.
