Henry Parrish, 2020 RB

After talking to a few sources since the Asa Martin transfer, the initial take from Parrish and his family is that they are done with Miami and happy with Pitt. The only way he leaves is if it is for a Bama/UGA/Clemson type. So not good for UM if they decide they want Parrish after all and there would be heavy-lifting to do, but we'll see what happens if/when Miami starts to press him.
Too good for miami but want to be up uga, bama, Clemson *** no matter when they pursue you? Backward *** mentality some of these recruits and their constituents have.

Trajan Bandy and his family said the same thing in June of 2016 when he was committed to Oklahoma. Yawn.

It's amazing how somehow this site somehow turns Parrish into a must have. Reality is we'll be okay with just 1 back and we have plenty of time to get an equally talented or better 2nd RB than Parrish if the staff chooses. All because one person beats the drum over and over again for him like he has in the past for many SFL players (and who end up being unproductive as well).

I'd be OK with Parrish, or Scott, or Holmes, or no one. As long as Chaney sticks we are fine this cycle.

He is a low 3 star RB, you guys fall for the Dmoney hype all the time. This is not Duke, Cook or Year who were highly rated. This the Dmoney special that has brought prospects like Desmond phillips, Juwan Hamilton, Dalvin Cooks 5th cousin that went to FAU or FIU

never Liked the Martin pick up at all.
How many times dmoney gotta say it. No reason to leave the state for a running back. None.
2 years in a row. Missing out on The dj kid last year and now parish and maybe even Morris cause we went oos. Knighton was never coming.

Leaving out Bowman and Sanders for obvious reasons.

Is this Rumph’s fault too? Lol

Agreed. And there are plenty of talented RBs in other states as well. RBs are everywhere. In fact it's one of the most diverse positions in the country in where they come from.

He’s a better talent than those guys listed but you make a very solid point. There was a lot of message board hype from a lot of posters of those guys you listed. And none of them have amounted for much of anything

So Baga/UGA/Clemson has slow played him so hard that they don’t even know who he is but he would automatically flip to any of them??? Yet Miami who has at least been in contact with him and evaluated him but fock us we’re dead to him??

Just shows that he would’ve flip to any of those schools if he was committed to us as well but we’re the bad guys...

It looks like we're the ones that slow played him. Most likely, he wasn't even on their radar screen. They're going after elite 5*s, top 100 types. (for you star whores, he's only in the 900's nationally).

It's like he's trying to hit on someone who's a 7 or 8 who's only teasing him. Then along comes someone who's a 10 and wants to take him home with her. Or course he'll flip.

You may not like it but that's how we're perceived right now compared to Bama, Clemson and Ga. We have to win some beauty contests first before we can treat people like that.

Here are the South Florida tailbacks who have signed/enrolled at UM since 2000. I didn't include backs who are still here, like Cam'ron Harris. Fifty percent (50%) had a 1K yard season, and Homer had two 960+ yard seasons:

Willis McGahee
Frank Gore

Tyrone Moss
Charlie Jones
Damien Berry
Lamar Miller
Eduardo Clements
Duke Johnson
Joe Yearby

Trayone Gray
Mark Walton
Travis Homer

And here is the same list for non-South Florida backs. None of them had a 1K season. That is 0/14:

JR Mounts
Derron Thomas
Andrew Johnson
Kylan Robinson
Javarris James
Lee Chambers
Graig Cooper
Shawnbrey McNeal
Mike James
Storm Johnson
Darion Hall
Dallas Crawford
Danny Dillard
Gus Edwards

So, yes, backs come from everywhere. But at Miami, our best backs of this millennium all came from South Florida. If a guy is putting up freakish numbers like Parrish, at the highest level of competition, we should recruit him hard.
