Head Coach Candidates?

No, Leach and Kiffin. Two dudes with outsized personalities the AD couldn't handle, which is exactly what is needed. We aren't at a point anymore where we are saying, "if we miss on this coach, the program is dead." I think we are past that now. Miami is an irrelevant CFB program, which to be honest, is the same situation as 99% of the schools in the country. Let's stop worrying about finding the next Tom Herman (who turned out to not be the next Tom Herman) and look for the HC that has shown he can put a defibrillator on Miamis heart and shock us back to life. We need instant juice and credibility, not a first time HC. That might work at Oklahoma where they had a decade of consistency, massive resources, and an OC was given a well oiled machine. Miami doesn't have that foundation.

So far I've been right about Leach and Kiffin, a couple years back, most fans on this site claimed Leach would NEVER get another P5 job after WSU because he was a clown. I said that in coaching circles, other coaches have a huge amount of respect for Leach because he is one of the best in the country when it comes to doing more with less, and some smart school would take a chance.

Likewise, I still laugh at how many posters that said Kiffin would end his career at FAU and he'd never sniff another P5 job. I can't think of a better match in terms of personality and school than Lane Kiffin at Miami.

I realize that for most fans, their wet dream is Mario Cristobal. I certainly think he would be an upgrade over Diaz but I'm sick of mediocrity. Give me the boom or bust HC like Leach or Kiffin. Id rather see us go out in a blaze of glory rather than withering away.
If we go the proven HC route I would bang the table for Bill O Brien. Guy is a terrible GM but he's a **** good football coach, 5 Winning seasons in 6 years at Houston. He has experience running an high end college program and did pretty well at Penn State despite all **** that was going on at the time. He's now getting a year of knowledge under Saban and is actually calling plays, you pair that with 5 years learning under Bill Bellichick and he's got a ridiculously impressive resume. His players absolutely loved him at Penn State and he holds players accountable and will call them out on their bull**** which works better in college then the NFL.

Agree.

The last two hires from “big money” schools are a failing Josh Heupel at Tennessee and Harsin from Boise at Auburn.

Some of the names being thrown around here are a pipe dream. Imo these two hires are more reflective of what’s out there.

Can’t talk about a new coach until Blake is gone, we’ve seen his hires across all sports and they’ve been bad.

If you really want to role the dice, Joe Brady would be interesting. He could very well be the next Lincoln Riley and he's born and raised down here. Our worst nightmare Is we end up going 9-3 abd they bring Manny back 😭

If Manwell doesn't dominate App State and Michigan State give me Huge Freezer, with NIL he don't have to drop bags anymore and he can use his personal phone for escorts.

One thing I keep reading on here time and time again is wait until we get into conference play. Conference play? WTF? WGAF about the ACC, they sure don't GAF about us!

If not Mario then I wouldn't mind taking a flier on Dan Lanning from Georgia. If offense is going to be *** then I wouldn't mind a tough physical defense. I like Billy Napier's organizational skills to run a program too.

What about Jeff Hafley from BC. Had killer defense at OSU and is doing a fine job up at BC
I am by no means close to that program but I do have people who are involved and they rave about him. Last week they got a serious gut punch at the end of a game they had in the bag. They came out in OT, scored and then made a play. No heads were hanging, they made plays. They scored 41 points with a back up QB. They tackle, the O Line has a clue and they are well coached. Flowers is a good skill guy but they are not loaded with talent. The stadium was 3/4's full and the atmosphere at BC is usually terrible. They get zero support in the city of Boston (mainly because BC alum have a 'way' about them). Full disclosure, I graduated form BC, just not a honk unless it deals with frozen water sports. So the crowd excuse is not used, the facilities are fine and they are recruiting Catholic Memorial for guys in state. I am sure all of you guys are well versed in CM Football. Hafley is getting it done with the same deficiencies as Miami.

BC finally hired an AD/AD's from OSU (instead of Miami, OH), they got a coach and presto, they are entertaining. Will they beat Clemson, maybe, maybe not but they will put up a fight. I know this is sacrilege but BC has a 44,000 seat stadium on campus that would be the prefect stadium for Miami and they some how got that thing expanded in Chestnut Hill which is just like Coral Gables. Grease some palms, spend some money and get a better product on the field in the 305.

Hafley probably has designs on a bigger job than Miami. Think about that comment, JFC!!!!! He would be a great hire. He did a presser last week basically telling the students to get lit up the night before, don't go to bed and come to the game ready to rock and roll. If he is saying that in a presser what is he saying to his team? Sign me up.

Lastly, I don't watch BC football, the last game I went to in person, Duke Johnson was a frosh. I live 20 minutes from the place. I watched a replay of the Mizzou game, the entire game. Why? Because they are now entertaining. BC is not struggling for applications but I bet the apps go up even more now with a good product on national TV.

Sorry boys, I am venting. Now BC is better than Miami. God help me.
