Have you ever switched your sports allegiance? OT THREAD

I'm having a midlife fan crisis and debating switching allegiances for the first time in decades on two sports at the same time. Is this even legal?

NFL- Dolphin since birth, i've been pretty checked out since the Jags buried Marino in the playoffs. I really want to see how the QB position works out in next years draft, but **** i really like what the Browns are building with Highsmith and the rest of them Canes.

NBA- Started a Magic fan - Switched to Lakers the day they drafted/traded for kobe. Hate lebron, lonzo, ty lue. Really think i'm just going to roll with whoever drafts Zion.

CFB-Cane since birth. Death before Dishonor.
You're switching from the Phins to the Browns... Let me put you on my ignore list now.

Nope, been a cane fan since I was knee high to a grasshopper in the late 80’s, it’s been rough lately but I don’t give af, I’m a ride this **** out...changing teams is completely gutless lol

Just be a fan of more than one team...

College sports Miami only

NFL Niners and now Browns

NBA Whoever drafts Ja Morant not a huge basketball fan

You can support more than one team IMO

Naw pimp. I ride & die w all my teams. I’m a Bears, Bulls, Blackhawks, White Sox, and Canes fan. I’m built for the endurance. I’ve sipped champagne w my teams, and smelled dookie w my teams. It comes w being a fan. U start switching allegiances and u just become a groupie dyck rider. Now, I may not give my money if they bull chitting, but I’m not flipping squads. I may even check in on some squads, but not rooting for them.

Always stayed with the same teams.

Stopped supporting the phins financially when Ross gave a Tebow fellatio festival at the stadium, ie, gave up my season tickets. Got a NFL Sunday Ticket and don’t root for any particular team, just enjoy it... I may pick a team in a matchup, but it’s always because I want the other team to lose. ALWAYS.

Cane since birth. It was meant to be. Canes over everybody. Miami everything else. 305.

Will re-up my phins season tickets when I receive a personal apology from Ross. Otherwise, the only money he gets from me is whatever he makes off my Miami Hurricanes season tickets for stadium use.

Canes and Cowboys since day 1. Been through the best of times and the worst of times with both. Still feel both are on their way back to the top.

I was born in LA, worshipped the Lakers but became a Heat fan at their birth. Once Magic left it was over for me. Never was drawn to Kobe.

Loved the Braves cause of Dale Murphy growing up but who could resist loving the Marlins after watching the athletic grace of Charlie Hough throwing that wicked knuckle ball then smoking a Winston in the dugout between innings.

Yes in hockey, grew up a huge Gretzky fan so I loved the Oilers. They were still my team when they traded him but they lost me when they finally shipped off Messier. Started pulling for the Redwings and my second favorite player Stevie Y.

Absolutely nothing wrong with bailing on the Dolphins. I did a long, long time ago. One of the most poorly run franchises in sports. It would be wrong to support a professional organization that commits such malpractice.

NBA, does anyone really root for franchises anymore?

Canes
God
Family
Country

You have your priorities set just fine, good sir. Go on about your day with confidence.

Ride or Die for Canes Football

I wouldn’t squirt **** on the Dolphins if they were on fire

Never switched allegiances, but went from long time dolphins season ticket holder/hardcore fan, to complete disinterest. I can’t remember the last time I watched a game.
Same here. After I moved to Atlanta I was still able to watch them almost every week. As we all know after time the Dolphins became less and less relevant and their games were no longer being carried on here. I watch Falcon games because my wife is a fan, but I've lost almost all interest in the Dolphins.

I was born in Detroit and have always rooted for their pro sports teams.

As a kid I rooted for the university of Michigan but that changed pretty quickly once I went to Miami...

Only once. Before the Marlins.....****, even during the first 6 years of their existence, I, like many South Floridians who grew up with cable TV and the ubiquitous TBS channel, was a Braves fan. They were always on, if you were a kid looking to get into major league baseball, it was only natural.

This stuck with me, to the point where I attended a couple of the 1997 NLCS games at JRS, and actually rooted for the Braves, not the Marlins. I was cursing Livian Hernandez and the umps that one game. Once the Marlins won that series, sure, I went for them in the World Series against the Indians, but not with any real urgency. Didn't let go of my Braves fandom until probably around 2000, and finally became a full time Marlins fan. The 2003 season was a lot of fun....still ****es me off they didn't bother to even try to keep that team together.
