Hangover Help!!

What was ever wrong with drinking like a fish Friday and Saturday, recovering Sunday so you're ready to work Monday?
 
Hangover prevention is doable.
  1. Don't drink garbage, especially with sugar in it.
  2. Alternate a drink with a glass of water. You're a grown up. You can do this.
  3. Before bed, drink a large glass of water with a packet of Vega Electrolytes (not gatorade or other sugary garbage). Leave a second glass of water with electrolytes by your bed.
    NOTE: do NOT take melatonin or other sleeping aids.
  4. This water before bed will make you want to pee in the middle of the night. This is a good purge. When returning to bed, drink as much of that bedside water as you can.
    OPTIONAL: pop an Excedrin if you feel a headache coming on.
  5. In the morning, drink a glass of water. Then (and only after this water) have a cup of coffee (no sugar, only low glycemic sweeteners like monk fruit, stevia, erythritol, or allulose) and pop 200 mg L-Theanine (EDIT: if you don't have L-Theanine, do not drink caffeine today).
    OPTIONAL: 500mg ginseng.
    NOTE: Another form of purging will likely result. Mazel tov.
  6. Breakfast (whenever that is, don't feel rushed to consume it) should be moderate protein, moderate fat, low carb (and no fructose at all if you can swing it). You may crave sweet or greasy starches, but you will suffer consequences if you further indulge.

So Ima a teacher and I’m going out to celebrate tonight for a friend. I CANNOT have a hangover tomorrow. Stomach head nada! Gonna be done drinking around 9 PM but plan to drink drink drink drink until then lol. Any suggestions on how to avoid this?! Any pills or supplements? Anything??
let's not foget, alcohol is a depressant in long haul and when you sleep, you really don't reach the infamous "rem" sleep. on top of that, the body never has a chance to rehydrate no matter how much you try. It's a screwed up cycle. That's my 3 cents

At 9:00 PM switch to water. Lots and lots and lots of water. Right before you go to bed take two or three aspirin with FOOD. In the morning make sure to eat a large breakfast filled with protein and some anti-oxidants.
All good advice. My standard breakfast was at Denny's couple eggs anyway, toast, hash-browns or home fries, sausage with side of bacon and some OJ and coffee. If I made to 163st in North Dade then it was Ham&Eggery for whole slice of center cut ham, bone-in, withe grits and toast plus OJ and coffee.

On way home from there I would always stop by the Krispy Kreme on the corner for dozen hot glazed. As an extra, in those early morning hours back then several extremely hot escorts use to hand out there waiting to be paged(before Moto invented cell). Of course if you got one of them to go, you needed extra dozen donuts because they would eat most of the first one. Not sure about this last items these day but back in the 70's & 80's the talent was exceptional. Oh, if you take the two dozen route make sure you hydrate or risk that hangover.

Nothing works
Agree. There are definitely some things that can lessen the severity of a hangover (I was huge on crushing extreme amounts of water and popping advil before I went to sleep), but if you drink enough there is nothing you can do that will make you be 100% the next morning. That's why when you have something important the next day, the 'hangover remedy' is simply to make sure you don't drink too much.

Sadly, I have no faith in you, OP.

This is what our education system has come too. If you jump off a big bridge with concrete under it would solve your problems with a hangover. Not telling you to do it mind you but that would do the trick.
