Gus Edwards teaser

Put me in the category that says if he is our feature back this fall, its going to be a loooooooong season.

Ive never seen anything from Gus Edwards that would lead me to believe he can be a productive every down back; No explosiveness, no real ability to break tackles.

Let's not forget being 230+, yet he can't lower his shoulders properly and acts like he's an elusive back. Joe Yearby needs to take the next step this season and we need to have Walton as the no. 2. Gus should only be brought in as a 3rd RB and/or goal line situations (warning about pad level though). More than likely, Golden will reward him for being "consistent" during the offseason and he'll be starting the whole year. Could work out though and it gets Golden fired....wishful thinking.

Gus should be a FB...he is fast but still runs like he has an ironing board strapped to his back..

He had just about 2-3 runs close to 40 yards and he didn't get enough carries to come to that conclusion IMO

Not saying it's as a full time halfback, but I will not be shocked if a few years down the road he has some productive NFL seasons and we wonder why he didn't do more here. Not because I see anything in him either way, just because that's how it seems to go around here. Even the guys we thought had no business starting (Shayon Green) seem to be able to hang around the NFL.

He is 6'2 235 how else he is supposed to run?

ask Adrian Peterson

He is 15-20 pounds bigger and a inch taller than Ap and he still runs a 4.49-4.5. And in comparison, Yeah sure Duke had more acceleration then him but he wasn't much faster than him by any means if at all

of course it was sarcasm Adrian is a big back that runs like a cat as was Erick ****erson...

I like Gus a lot and think if he had to could carry the ball 20+ times for us....I just don't see how coley will use him correctly, he could be a weapon for sure

10000% correct. He lacks explosoveness. Those clips prove that. How many times has this 230+ lb back been stuffed on the goal line? More times than I can remember. He's not even in the same league as Yearby. Not even close. Yearby is going to make fools of r the people slow playing him on this board.
