Gus Edwards teaser

if gus was from south florida people would respect him more. Staten island isn't known for being a hot bed of football activity. I love Yearby he can be really good. Mark Walton is a great kid too.

Those highlights perfectly illustrate the issue with Gus. He likes to bounce everything outside. With that size you need to go north and south. You can't move laterally along the LOS at that size, you're basically bailing out the defense. Nobody wants to see Gus barreling down on them. It leads to a bunch of no gains or 1 yard rushes moving sideways for each 20+ highlight. Not efficient for his body type.

Yall kinda hard on Gus. However, I will say this, it doesn't look good when you're 230+ and your team uses a 190lb RB for short yardage instead of you.

SIDENOTE: WTF do these kids listen to today? SMH

That's that fetty wap lol

If Walton is as advertised he'll be the starter sooner rather than later....if not it will speak volumes about the state of our depth chart at a position where we should always have a plethora of talent.

Gus doesn't run anywhere near as violently as a guy his size should. Time will tell but I haven't seen much out of him that makes me think he'll be anything more than an average back.

Gus is a Big 10 back playing on a team that does not have a physical, nasty OL. My prediction is by midway in the season, Mark Walton will be the starting RB....

Believe what you want but he is the most talented back on our roster as a combination of speed strength and size...... Has he put it all together yet? No..Freshman year he was laughable, Last year he improved ten fold... If your saying he didnt break tackles last year and show power your just not looking. Are we spoiled at RB? YEs we are?Thats why your acting like ****gots..Im one of the bleakest dude on here and I can see he has talent. Walton and Yearby aint the answer... So Im all in on Gus the Bus by default

Didn't mean to DV... Wanted to UV... I agree with you... I think he's talented... I can see him having a good year... A notch below Jarret Payton type season... I think the Berry comparison is off because Damian was on the verge to having a great season before his ankle injury... However I think Gus does well... I'm going with 900 yards... I'm not that high on Yearby and Walton... Although Wakton did take the next step as a high school senior...

I agree but every RB wants that sideline as your friend, we were taught to get to it asap...less chance of fumbles etc..

I think we have a great one two punch if coach coley can use all the backs correctly and Kaaya can read the defenses and learn to audible and not run off tackle stretch play on 3 and 4 with 9 guys in the box...

No, not really. I would respect him more if he was better at football.
