Gus "The Bus" Edwards? Porter says he ran a 4.51 at 240lbs. No f'ing way

If he has retained some speed at that weight then that means one thing--he needs to get bigger. I'd like to see him at about 270 running a 4.8.

The probability of a 6 ft + RB running a 4.51 is very rare. I just don't believe it.

I am sure these geniuses are wanting to now make him into TE/H-Back mold while claiming they're just all in wanting to optimize full skillset of players.

Why not?

6ft+ LB's and TE's have ran faster.

I like Gus as a RB! Don't get me wrong, but at 240lbs it's just highly unlikely. That's a lot of weight and I've never seen the explosiveness at 225-230lbs that would allow him to be that fast on a 40 time.

Everybody talkin sh*t, but Gus will be the one to get drafted high if he runs that at the Combine and has a big year this year....give em credit... he got big and fast...and not big and slow

Derrick Henry of Alabama is 6'3 242 and ran a 4.5 flat at Alabama testing day.... guarantee he is a 1st or second round pick

I'll say this if those numbers are even close to being true Gus will be a monster & Deerob I agree with you. It would easily be the biggest physical transformation of an athlete under Golden's career.

He's always ran a good time in 40.

Not nearly as rare as you might think, but...

For comparison's sake, Melvin Gordon ran a 4.52 at the combine...AT TWO HUNDRED AND FIFTEEN POUNDS

If Gus Edwards is ANYWHERE in that neighborhood, he's a freak.

I said when he committed that he reminded me most of Le'Veon Bell and LB ran 4.6 at the combine.

Couple other similar body types and their 40's:

Beanie Wells (6'2, 235) - 4.38
Toby Gearheart (6'0, 230) - 4.50
Brandon Jacobs (6'4, 256) - 4.56
Arian Foster (6'1, 227) - 4.68

It's not unbelievable, but it does put him in some pretty good company.

Guys acting like this dude is big and out of shape, lol. He'll probably play around 230-232 when the season starts. The dude is in shape and is a great athlete.

If true it's going to make a fantastic combo between Gus / Yearby & Chocolate / Walton. Some
Depth and talent! I like it

Didn't Gus also run the fastest on the new tracking technology UM uses?
21 mph or something like that? May not be fast driving down the highway, but for a human being on two legs, that's swift.
