So he’s on the same track Joe Jack was on as a freshman...Rousseau is not far from that right now, he played last season at 220 in high school, the coaches in interviews says he’s put on 15-20 pounds too

no hate.. i agree with all that.. except doesnt CC pretty much play D end still in the NFL? maybe d end in a 3-4 , but still d end?Jesus what has this place become..
Not sure about their body types but CC and GR play differently for sure. I remember Jim Kelly commenting on CC when he was redshirting and on the scout team. One thing that intrigued people about CC was his length. The debate back then was whether he'd play DE or TE on grassy. I dont remember him being a great athlete (even against the Colorado talent). At the time, I'm sure nobody thought he would turn himself into one of the best DT in the NFL, but he did use his length to disrupt passes against our starters. It took awhile for CC to grow into the player he is today. Truthfully, I think CC is a better NFLer than he was here cause he continued to grow and get stronger in the league.
Rousseau looks like a better athlete than CC already at the same stage . His highlights show a kid thinks supposedly 6'7 having the bend to tackle other high schoolers down low. And the quickness to chase guys down. He played LB and S (in SFLA btw) before even getting got the DL. Can't speak to his mindset (which ultimately will determine how he turns out) but he has an opportunity to learn from two future NFL players in Jackson and Garvin
As much as you may want to compare these two, besides height and weight at 18, I don't think it's going to be a fair comparison. CC played cause we needed him to. GR will be afforded the opportunity to sit, learn, and grow! GR looks very athletic and looks like he could be a terror on the edge. CC set the edge but was never a pass-rush 'specialist'. I'm hoping Simpson can turn him into a Javon Kearse type of rusher (another guy who played multiple positions on D before settling on DE)
..... hate away.....
