Great Single Season Performance Nominations

McKinnie in 2001 was one of the best seasons I've ever seen in my life from a tackle, not just at Miami. He was a man amongst boys that season. I swear he looked bored sometimes.

he and Orlando Pace were unreal their last seasons.

I saw McKinnie last week at the spring game. He still looks in game shape. Its unreal how big he is, he makes other big men look like Mugsy Bogues....

I've talked to him a couple times recently at Mayor's cafe in Pines and yeah, when he walks in the door, the entire place stops. He almost doesn't look human.

The only other person I've ever seen in my life that I was that close to that compares is Kevin Durant. He looks 12 feet tall in person and his arms hang to mid-shin. He legitimately looks like an alien. I'd imagine Shaq is the same way, but I've never been that close to him. McKinnie is honestly the size of 3 normal people but he doesn't look like a fat person. It's incredible.

the thing about Bryant is that he's as nice a guy as he is big. Extremely personable and nice. Heard that about him since he was at the U

And nothing has changed. Great ambassador for the program...

Agree 100% with that. He's been cool as **** both times I've spoken to him. Couldn't have been nicer.

What happened to Greg Threat? Why was he benched?
Ask Shannon....Merriweather was named starter over Threat after a disappointing 1st game in 05, because Shannon gonna Shannon....If I remember correctly, Threats Parents had a couple of meetings with Coker & Shannon and layed into both of them (in ref to why Greg lost his starting position) @Brooklyndee I think you'd agree

I’m going to purposely leave out 2002 McGahee’s 2002 season, Morgan’s 2000 season, & Sapp’s 1994 season b/c those r no brainers, imo.

Greg Rousseau’s 2019 season

Ed Reed’s 2001 season

Sean Taylor’s 2003 season

Duke Johnson’s 2014 season

Allen Hurns 2013 season

Jeremy Shockey’s 2001 season

without Willis, UM loses a game or two in the regular season in 2002. He bailed out Chud time and time again
True, but are you assuming no Frank Gore? If FG doesn’t hurt his knee Spring 2002 he starts over Willis.

Would Miami have been 12-0 with Gore as the feature back and Willis rehabbing an injury?

OJ Andersons run vs #19 Auburn in 1978 to set up Game Winning FG.....and Later in the yr...his Game Winning TD vs UF, where he ran over and through 5 Gators in route to Endzone are 2 plays often forgotten...
Was going to nominate Ottis’ 1978 season.

224 carries for 1,266 yards and 8 TDS on a rather average-to-bad team. His finale at Florida is legend. As you know.

8th overall pick.

One of the worst play calls of all time in college football.

I think the anti-UM sentiment was just too high in 2002 and then we had the BS argument that Dorsey and McGahee were taking votes from each other. I love Dorsey but your point about UM losing some games that year without McGahee is spot on.

Larry f-king Johnson won the Heisman over McGahee
As bad as that guy from Purdue winning the Thorpe over Reed.
... or the guy from Oklahoma winning the Thorpe over Sean Taylor.

Yes. A healthy Gore was probably better than McGahee. Crazy to even write this. I feel like the keyboard may explode.
