Grade This Class

B+ because we have met almost every need. I would have liked us to ad 1 more DT & CB.

B

It has been a loooooong time since this team attracted 5-star talent. Missing out on those blue chip players is what prevents us from being elite. This team will need to overachieve on the field and win a lot of games to reignite interest from the elite recruits in PBC, Broward and Dade in 2015.

It's not all on Al either, these players have to produce on the field and get us to 10 wins to that Al has the prospect of playing on a winning team to sell. Until then, classes ranked between #10 and #15 will be the standard.

Miami is one of three teams currently that is not an SEC team in ESPN top 10. (Ohio State and FSU). 2 BCS teams with title winner and we are complaining about this class after our season. Yes we missed on some big targets and it feels dull today as a lot of our top kids enrolled early. We didn't lose any kids today nor did we gain any. Not even a full recruiting year with the cloud lifted and we complain after pulling a top 10 class.

C......

I don't care about top ten class. When the "state of Miami" is a complete sieve and your staff's strength is supposed to be recruiting, and you fail to land the top RB, top DT, top WR, top corner, and top QB in your area, you don't get a pat on the back.

We got a really good class Cane. No doubt. But pretending that the reason we didn't sign multiple elite kids from our back yard had anything to do with the NCAA is simply an excuse to not face the obvious fact that many SF kids don't see our program like we do AND that our staff was not able to convince them to. Also, pointing to our season as a reason that we didn't land more elite talent from our recruiting base is perhaps the most searing indictment you can make of our staff. There I would most assuredly agree with you because we must do a better job of coaching up the talent that we do have, but yes they landed a very good class with some really talented kids who I am thrilled are Canes.

A-, same as it was a month ago.

- Best QB in Cali - most important recruit in the last 5 years, IMO
- Consensus top 3 RB in Florida
- 5* mega-DE
- Top-3 DT in Florida
- Best pure OL recruit in a decade (IMO)
- Upgraded and basically overhauled biggest weakness on the team (pass-rush)
- Immediate plug-and-play QUALITY JUCO DTs (not senior cast-offs) plus two more DTs to grow on (Moten, Jenkins)
- Instant upgrade to safety position
- Depth at WR and LB

See my "two-year haul" bump below - I would have liked another pure RB and CB - but the roster upgrade from 2013 to 2014 seems palpable. I'll post a side-by-side 2013 and 2014 two-deep later today if I can.

We had TV a month ago. Losing a difference maker like him is huge. C+/B- at best with the talent we missed out on. When you have a staff of recruiters and no super star X and O's corch then this is a fail. If we had some evidence of player development I would feel better as well.

It is what it is...

We lost TV right after New Years IIRC (my post dated 1/6 didn't have him as a commit.) Honestly, call me a pessimist but I had him as a grade casualty since before then even so maybe my view is skewed since I haven't "had" him in my version of this class for a long time.

In and of itself, A-

in the context of what it could have been based on what was available, B--

in terms of finishing strong like winners do? An epic F.

This^^^ The class itself is great. It was epic before losses. Should have been our best ever had we not had the big losses and added a couple of guys we should have been able to pick up in the last month.
