Got to expect an OC announcement soon

How so? If Manny was named HC after Pitt game, I’m sure he would’ve have reach out to Kingsbury or Briles before Fedora.
The AD doesn't want the bad PR of Briles and I doubt Kliff wanted to go to Miami. He seems set on USC.

Yeah I'm honestly not a big fan of Coley.

Right now I feel like we caught an infectious disease at that frigging OSU game and still have it. I don't want any coach from that point forward for fear they are carrying it. If we can't have Butch from before that point then lets go clean slate. No one that touched that time frame. We are stuck with Manny but I wish he would consider cutting loose his defensive staff too. These coaches are addicted to keeping their boys regardless of failure.

I don’t understand the obsession some of our fans have with him. What are his accomplishments? Between the halfback pass in the blizzard and that recruiting room video with him and D’Onofrio debating over some JAG I don’t want that idiot anywhere near our offense ever again.

Another guy who didn't value the middle of the field. I want an OC who threatens every **** inch of the field.

He's turned Fromm into a likely 1st round draft pick this year. Kaaya was the best QB we've had here since Dorsey and the man can obviously recruit.

He coaches WRs at UGA? How is he responsible for turning Fromm into a likely 1st round pick?

Nope. Do your HW. He got a promotion last year and is QB coach & co-OC. UGA fans were *****ing all last year about the Offense and it's risen to a whole other level since Coley was promoted. They love him.

One angle that I think might be interesting is the program's historic linkage with the Dolphins. If Lincoln Riley becomes the Dolphins HC, I wonder if that could have an impact on Fedora's view of the spread offense as college and pro coaches are constantly at each others camps, exchanging notes and discussing concepts.

We’re getting Fedora or better. They were down right giddy on espn talking about it today.

Sounds like it’s going to be Fedora or Applewhite. I’ve seen a lot of threads on Fedora but how do people feel about Applewhite?

I thought Coley was a huge downgrade from Jedd. 3rd downs were seriously painful to watch.

Reason it has to be Fedora is having HC experience on the staff with a HC who doesn’t have any. Win-Win for Manny. Smart move.

We could do worse. He has worked under some great coaches (Saban and Brown) and would bring an attacking spread philosophy similar to Tom Herman who Applewhite worked for as his OC at Houston:

"At Houston, Applewhite and Herman take over what was an inconsistent offense that ranked 55th in yardage, 85th in Red Zone TD percentage and 93rd in third down conversions. Applewhite described their offensive philosophy as "taking two-back principles to spread formations and being able to apply those to a tempo world." Herman said Applewhite will call plays."

If he is Plan B, that is not a bad fallback hire.

One of the underrated/overlooked advantages to Applewhite is that Willie's new OC was Applewhite's OC. One would assume that Applewhite would be intimately familiar with Briles' offense, which would give us somewhat of an advantage. Minimal as it may be, it's an advantage nonetheless. Applewhite was once one of the hottest young OCs in college football. So much so that Saban hired him after one year of calling plays at Rice.

That’s the same guy that wouldn’t let Ed Oliver wear a coat on the sideline? That wouldn’t fly down here and his offenses haven’t been that good. Tee Martin offenses were better

Then fired him.

Supposedly Tom Herman took playcalling duties away from him.

His résumé looks good, but I haven’t heard anybody that follows Houston sing his praises as an offensive mind.

The fact that it eas fecided yesterday means he has at least finalists and if it's Fedora lets go!!!!! His offensive style will get our rbs to do damage and make whoever the qb is much better as a dt
