Got to expect an OC announcement soon

The thing I just can't get over with Applewhite is that he WILLINGLY, CONSCIOUSLY, AND INTENTIONALLY HIRED MARK D'ONFRIO

I know he's had success as a play caller....but holy **** does that call his judgement on crucial decisions into question.

For the right money you can do whatever you want. I think Coley would do RB/Co-OC role for the right money knowing Fedora is out after a successful campaign.

I dunno. Fedora wasn't the first guy that came to mind when I heard those words; Ton of interest + shot in the arm for our players.

Not saying he isn't the hire or a good fit schematically and philosophically, but it sounded like someone more on the tip of everyone's tongue. The kids on our roster and the ones we're recruiting likely don't know anything about Fedora's offensive abilities. Fedora seems like a more nuanced fit personality/scheme-wise based on his success before UNC, when most of these kids were 15 or younger.

My ideal was Briles, but I can’t imagine we could steal a guy who just signed at FSU for a lateral move. Even less likely to get Kingsbury. At the end of the day, with Fedora’s HC experience, and he was a really strong recruiter as well, he may be even better.

Wasn’t who I initially had in mind at all either, but the moment I heard the name, I was like “****, Manny is serious about this thing.”

Larry gets a blank check for his staff and I hope there's a way to get Ken Dorsey on campus. He'd be a good for program security in the event Fedora leaves.

Briles is cancer. Kingsbury is going to the NFL..

I actually think Fedora fits our needs better than briles. He is likely better at picking a staff, and he brings a toughness and attitude we’re sorely missing right now.
 
The longer this goes on, the more I wonder if the search opened up when the Fedora talk died down. I'm wondering if we could be missing potential candidates, that whoever it is might come from left field a bit.
