Good Thing Player's "Love" Manny

White knight to the rescue. Guy missed at least half of the games he was here. Mallory was broken last year and played in every game.
I mean call it whatever you want, but you're White Knighting for Manny in that case. I know which side I'd rather be on.

This is the same **** people on here did when Hasselwood called us during his recruitment. The mental gymnastics it must take to look at what has gone on here for 15 years and determine that everyone that has been inside and then speaks out is actually the problem is staggering to me.

Essentially said that Manny bad mouthed Brevin to all the scouts (said showed up to practice drunk, partied too much, not a leader) and that’s why he went 5th round as the 2nd or 3rd ranked te in the draft

Look, I want Manny gone as much as the next guy, but there's a 0.0% chance that he ever would say something like that about one of his guys. It's too easily verifiable and the blowback would basically end recruiting for Diaz. I just have a hard time believing a coach who is so overly-player friendly would kneecap one of his best like that.

This sounds like sour grapes from a guy who got bad advice and should have stayed in school another year, and is taking it out on everyone else.

It kind of is his fault. Happens when you're made of equal parts balsa wood and paper mache
Or it could be that he was successfully standing up 300 lb defensive linemen as a freshman thru his junior year so that our running plays would actually work. Travis Homer and DJ Dallas were drafted off of Brevin’s blocks. Watch their highlights tapes or review any game breakdown by Lance Roffers (UFR) if there’s any question of Brevin’s toughness or impact on this offense since his arrival. He was injured often but we all see the impact of his absence this season.

Okay, here are the two possibillities:

1. Manny told the truth, but didnt suspend Brevin. Manny is proven to be unable to discipline his players and get accountability into his team and therefore, he needs to leave ASAFP.

2. Manny didnt tell the truth and jeopardized his players career. He is a complete **** and should be fired without receiving the rest of the payment for gross neglience.

Either case only should be followed by one result.
There’s a 3rd possibility:

3. Manny never mentioned anything negative about any player, and Brevin is either working w bad info or just delusional. In either case, Manny should be fired immediately along w the AD who hired him.

There’s a half dozen things we learned of in the past week that have happened, which we would’ve given a 0% chance of happening. All in one thread.

Bunch of guys with battered wife syndrome.

No need to sht on people in your industry. Give a neutral answer without bashing.

If it was Manny: He still has to develop a bit with his discipline. Anything else sounds like you're being petty.
If it was Brevin: I thank him for the time he spent coaching the team. Anything else sounds like you're being petty.

If manny was telling the truth Im fine with it. If he lies he puts all his other players reputations on the line when ever scouts call.

Assuming this all really happened with Brevin, Manny shouldn't be putting all of that out on the street. As @JD08 alluded to, there is a world of gray between "telling the truth" and throwing a player under the bus. Redirect the questions to his play on the field, mention his passion for the game, tip-toe around his discipline or work ethic questions, but ultimately compliment the player. That's it.

As far as his other players' draft status and reputations being at risk with anything less than a full disclosure by the HC, the NFL is first and foremost a business. If the players handle their business on the field nobody will care that the HC never dishes dirt. But every player will care if they don't believe they can trust their HC.

I really want to know about this practice thing. If you played a sport in college there’s a 90% chance someone on your team showed up to practice a little drunk from the night before. The difference is how good they were at hiding it, or how the coach handled it. In my experience that person had to run until they threw up every bit of alcohol they had in their system. Was never bad enough to warrant a suspension.

Ya’ll r completely missing this point w/ all this back & forth banter.

From Hester, to Chick, to Jordan…from Shannon, to Golden, to Manny

This “team” is a complete chit show. Like a whole tanker full of Febreze can’t extinguish the stench that’s been lingering.

“IF” Jordan was showing up to practice drunk, half assing it in practice, was he talked to about this? If so, if he completely continued on in this behavior, witf was he still TE #1??!! Why wasn’t he disciplined?!! What msg r u sending to the entire locker room?!

OK, now Mr Diaz….if u didn’t do chit to remedy this matter, y now speak on it to the scouts? Did u not allow & embolden this behavior? So y speak on it?

For me:
-Based upon the post I shared in another thread regarding Diaz’s first buyout to come here from MSU (and in case u missed it, yes, Diaz had a buyout at MSU b/c he signed an extension after Mullen gave him a 2nd opportunity, and he said “I’m signing this contract extension b/c I don’t want to be anywhere else but here….he left the following season to us & a buyout ensued)
-Based upon how he handled the Temple situation
-Based upon the the low key subliminal shots he took at Richt when he became HC
-Based upon this new info……..

Yeah, anyone defending this weasel is cookoo for coco puffs. This dude is consistently absolving himself of any wrong by throwing others under the bus. Brevin’s draft status was b/c, as I stated in that Combine thread, he had a chitty pro day, dropping passes & chit. That’s on him, and he needs to accept that chit; but, he should feel a certain way bout Diaz speaking on him, especially if that chit was never addressed, and I’m going to assume it wasn’t since BJ continued to be TE1.

So maybe you shouldnt have shown up to practice drunk and partied a bit less if you wanted to be a top pick...Love the personal accountability here LOL

Exactly..bruh ain’t nobody getting suspended for smelling loud in the building, being hungover or **** like that..u know what happens when your position coach etc peep that..THEY RUN YOUR *** WITH NO EXPLANATION! That what happens. Unless it leads to u missing team meetings or straight dogging it. And if that’s the case your likely not performing enough and will not see the field…but the idea that A HC is responsible to mislead, or lie to scout to cover up a player making poor decisions is crazy. The idea that a head coach should blast a player by suspension and disclosing the details just for fan and media is dumb..the results In the W/Ls column is enough to have him fired..now we talking about this **** and there possibly not being a defensive playbook..my god😂

I wholeheartedly agree with 98% of this post.

But please don't go associating Coco Puffs with Manny Diaz worshippers, fam. That's a fine breakfast cereal and its supporters don't deserve to get lumped together with Diaz slurpers who can't see the light of day... they probably buy that off-brand Cocoa Burst ****.

That is completely unacceptable.

Imagine if its true. And that he continues doing that in the NFL from the start - see Manziel. Do you want scouts to not trust our HC when it comes to talent evaluation? And then they stop coming? Should there be no personal accountability?

I like Brevin and want him to succeed, but read just the first couple sentences and you can see even a broken clock is right twice a dayView attachment 157366

Brevin sounds like someone that does not want to own his behavior. He did quit on plenty of plays. He was soft a lot of the times. And I only remember a couple of plays from him. He was so inconsistent. And that is on Manny? No. That is on Brevin. So SnapChat all you want, but take a look in the mirror, homeslice.
