Goldens given up on practice

Just curious, but what are the other teams doing? Are they talking off for finals? Or do most of them get a free A like UNC? I want to hold off any judgement on this until I know what the other teams are doing. Especially the teams that will probably playing in the "Christmas Bowls".

I am sure FSU is not taking time off for anything.
Or Bama. Seriously, could you ever imagine Nick Saban giving his team this much time off?

You mean to tell me the teams that are playing in conference championships are practicing?

Wow

Bet you 50$ FSU or Bama are going to have practice next week though

Well no ****. The point is that Jimbo or Saban would never give their team their team this much time off whether they were preparing for a conference championship game or the Toilet Bowl.

Those teams play today dude. Golden needs to be canned but those are different situations

I understand that. I was speaking in the hypothetical.

Anyone know how many bowl practices we actually get? I heard anywhere between 10-15?

I think it was probably a big part of why the didn't hire him. The buyout did what it's supposed to do: make your coach less desirable to other schools by penalizing them financially for taking him from you.

Whether it's 5 or 8 mil, PSU is know for being cheap. As much as they liked Al, they liked James Franklin too and Franklins buyout was either less or negotiated down. Simple choice at that point for PSU.

When your AD is a powerless hermaphrodite, this kinda **** happens. A powerful AD would have seen that situation as an opportunity for us to get a better coach by negotiating a smaller buyout, realizing that Al was being wayyy overvalued.

Please don't make it seem like UM stopped Folden from getting the Ped State gig. He didn't get that job, despite begging for it like a pauper, because they liked Franklin better.

They are only limited by 4 hours a day, 20 hours a week

So for those using limited practices as some excuse you can stop it. He could've held practice everyday leading up to the bowl game since the Pitt loss as long as they didn't violate those guidelines.

If it wasn't Al I wouldn't believe it in a thousand years. I really believe he is trying to make it clear to those stupid BOT's that he really wants to be fired. They the ones giving excuses for him, Fat Al doesn't have to anymore.

I hope the media catches this and runs with it...the excuse of not having the extra practices needs to be thrown out in his face...I want to see that fat ***** answer another heated line of question. I know he will dodge just want to see the media go HAM on his ***.

I just don't think you guys understand how tired the players are from having to play 9 night games. It was actually a blessing that they didn't make the ACCCG because it would have been another night game and possibly affected the teams performance in the first couple of games next season. I believe the recovery time is something like 4 weeks for every 1 night game played. For the soon to be seniors, its like they're back in their first year again because of the mental and physical fatigue and breakdown that comes with night games. I think canceling spring practices should be considered as well.

The standard is anywhere between 10 and 15 practicies prior to a bowl game. For instance, when Alabama played Texas for the national championship, Saban had 14 practices and a walk through prior to the BCS National Championship Game. The period between the SEC championship game and the National Championship Game was 36 days. Don't believe me then go look it up.

So the question I'd ask is when is our bowl game? From there you work yourself backwards.

there is a real chance we only get 3 or 4 practices..this guy needs to be fired.

To all the simpleton's on here, if u do not like the program. Don't go to the games and next year do something else on Saturday afternoon. l will renew my season tickets, thnx for the xtra seats.

**** you, you are part of the problem supporting this mediocrity

He's completely lost his mind. I have to hear what excuse he serves for this.

"Well you see Sabetta, Raising Canes and night games aren't the only factor going into the fatigue experienced by the players. You also have to take into account daylight savings time that those games were played in.. and don't forget that the temperature for most of those games were 1-2 degrees higher or lower than we're used to in practice. The culmination of those factors are what really knocked our team out..."- Mr. Golden

The two bowls game we are most mentioned for are on the 26th and 27th. If we're not practicing till at the earliest the 12th there is no way he's getting 15 practices in. Accounting for travel, bowl festivities(best buy shopping spree, field trip to wherever) and off days the team might get 8-10 practices in.

But the rules don't stop him for getting a couple of practices in this upcoming week. Maybe let Rosier run something other than the scout team. Uh, next year's redshirt freshman QB who will likely be the backup QB. Figuring out what position Trayone Gray is gonna play. All the redshirts could use this time. See what we have in these guys. But nah, we were 6-6. We good.

Look, Miami should dismiss Golden. I definitely agree with that. He's been given 4-years and we're no better off than when they fired Randy. That being if they get in 2-full weeks, which is pretty typical for these ***** bowls then that's fine in my opinion. The premise that an extra couple of practices are going to discover a position for Gray or really help Rosier is ludicrous. That will happen during spring ball.

The loser used that as a excuse a few years ago tho didn't he? Which is it is what we want to know
