Goldens given up on practice

How much was franklins buyout? I think penn state didn't hire him because they thought james franklin was a better coach and franklin could sell himself better

Exactly. Miami did not keep Golden from going to PSU. Neither did the buyout. PSU had better options

Isn't this what most schools do for bowl games? The players do get some time off.

Not two weeks. Not leaving the start of bowl practices open-ended. He's looking for a way out. Getting fired or finding another job.

I would rather he be out there recruiting, honestly. National Signing Day is more important to me than some garbage bowl game.

That won't be a popular opinion but I'm thinking of the future.

Beef Slurper,
The next thing your golden douche will give up on is recruiting. It's all that's left.

Wow. Is this the same guy that complained about how having a night game one week set his staff back from preparing for the game the next week (3-7 hours max of extra prep time)? Yet, he gives up on days/weeks of game prep time when he has the opportunity to utilize them?

Ok. Makes sense...

He's actively trying to get fired. So it makes some sense.

So when did we start bowl practices last year and how many practices did we have before the L'ville game?

I'll just leave this here:

Bowl practices are high on that list of “haven't had” for Golden. He said “it’s tough to quantify” how missing 30 to 35 practices in December under self-imposed bowl bans hurt the program.

But he said “having all the [recruits] in South Florida come watch bowl practice and watch us operate and be around our team and players” will be big for the program moving forward. Getting to 10 victories with a bowl win — at likely either the Chick-Fil-A in Atlanta (Dec. 31) or the Russell Athletic Bowl in Orlando (Dec. 28) — is also important, Golden said.

"They mean everything, to be honest with you," defensive coordinator Mark D'Onofrio said. "Just think about it in terms of it being spring ball. That's what you get in the spring and we would like 30 practices in the last two years. Not to make any excuses, but it is what it is. We had 30 less practices than our competitors had. I'm glad we have them."

Is there any, any football related reason for him to do this? Will any of the Miami media call this guy out on it? It seems so grossly unprofessional, who the **** would hire the guy after this? I'm in with FarArcher and turning up the heat on the guy. We should have a port-a-potty set up en the edge of campus as his new "office". Hire Butch and have Al go get his coffee. Eff this.

December 5th or the 6th. Dalvin cook and the miami central boys were on official visits to Miami and we had practice.

Goldie's walking a fine line. He's slacked to get fired; but if he goes too far, he'll get fired for cause, and lose his buyout.

If there's been emails between him and Dorito, about purposely slacking, he's cooked. BOT should have IT quietly search emails to find the evidence.

This is assuming the BOT has brains; which they don't.

Or he could do both....like every other coach in America.

The team gave up on Al Golden, so Al Golden has given up on the team.

We've come full circle.

How does this guy not run out of ideas of doing dumb sh*t... Everyday this week it has been something lol. He wants to be fired its as clear as day....

At the end of the day the fans and players suffer. These morons allow the leverage both financial and control that Al was given on silver platter to graciously embrace the **** he is throwing in their face. All part of the continuing **** show on and off the field, you would think eating enough ****, someone would have the balls and step and put and end to this, it's only going to get worse. Al will be gone with the money and who knows what happens to the program.

What future? He's packed it in. What's he going to sell? Actions speak louder than words, so recruits will see us not practice and then get blown out in some meaningless bowl game that the team has "achieved" under his leadership. Wonderful.

Just curious, but what are the other teams doing? Are they talking off for finals? Or do most of them get a free A like UNC? I want to hold off any judgement on this until I know what the other teams are doing. Especially the teams that will probably playing in the "Christmas Bowls".

Did they practice before last year's bowl fiasco?

If so, I can see why they don't see any point in practicing. It just makes you all tired and sweaty.

I am sure FSU is not taking time off for anything.

Or Bama. Seriously, could you ever imagine Nick Saban giving his team this much time off?
