Georgia NIL leak on Jackson Cantwell

Respectfully disagree.

Cantwell wants to play for championships. He knows he can do so in the SEC. The ACC was scrapping to get two teams in the playoffs last year, and Alabama was screaming about how they should get in over SMU.

Whether we like it or not, the perception is that we have to have a perfect-storm season just to be in the playoffs, while the SEC/Big 10 teams can have a stumble or two and still make it.

For a kid who wants to win rings (as well as make the NFL), quite a few SEC/Big 10 teams present compelling arguments. Regardless of whether Mirabal is a much better coach that Searels (he is).
I think Mario and Mirabal are excellent coaches and recruiters

We also have money

The fact we aren’t consistently landing elite OL prospects pretty much lets everyone know how ****** being in the ACC is (and also not even being competitive in it consistently)

Penn State’s last national championship was 1986 and Penn State wasn’t a member of the Big Ten until the early 90s. So you’re wrong on that one.

You can try to downgrade it, and I will be patient and understanding on that issue.

The fact of the matter remains, it was an undefeated season at a time when undefeated teams were not always matched up in bowl games. And this is not the "one elector" situation that UCF had, this is NINE different bowl electors. Yes, it wasn't AP/UPI.

NINE TIMES, Mrs. Bueller.

The broader point is teams that have won national championships in the modern era (1981-forward) and are members of the Big 10. Nebraska was not in the Big 10 at the time, and Penn State was. Had they been in the Big 10 at the time, one or the other would be national champ and would have beaten the other.

The big difference this one position they can develop . I thought we did good the last few classes at ol . The elite diva one are the ones who usually don’t work out as much . This is the one position that doesn’t concern me with Mario . We’ll always have a solid ol and once we start pumping out nfl talent the better it will get .

Yeah I’m not “concerned” but we’ve got a lot of OL projects coming through these next few years

We’ve been striking out on 5 star targets after 2023 though

I won’t say anything until this class is signed but losing Cantwell and Pepe would be unacceptable (even if I don’t personally think they are as good as their rating)

You pump out NFL talent by recruiting elite players.

A 3 star player only has a 6% chance of getting drafted.

**** the big 10.

We really dont need to.

We need to be the best where we are...simple as that.

Other than ohio state b4 Michigans cheating championship..who in the BIG 10 have won anything?.

Clemson,FSU, and sh*t even us have won in the last 25 years.

If i had a choice between the sec and big 10 id choose big 10 but i aint a fan of either and we would be the red headed step child in both...CLEARLY. Look at what folks had to go through to get Xavier Lucas to transfer home and we have fans that want to line up to go play in both conferences as if it will give some advantage.

There is a 12 team playoffs the best will play aginst the best there...f*ck that college conference stuff...thats for the mizzous, auburns, penn state, purdues of the world. Not ateam with a BRAND like us.
We won championships in The Big East. I'm sure we got paid less than the blue bloods back then too.

The world has changed since then. The gap was a lot narrower in the 1990s, and the growing gap is what caused us to move to the ACC in the 2000s, so let's not act like there was some lengthy "golden era" of Big East membership.

And for the record, we only won ONE championship in The Big East. We may have "worn the patch" in 1991, but we only played TWO Big East games in 1991. We were essentially still an independent in 1991.

The 6% is cherry picking. 3 stars make up 45% of players drafted.
There are approximately 1500 ish 3 stars each year
I think you are conflating the percentage of players drafted who were a 3* with what he is saying which is for any individual random 3* recruit there was a 6% chance he would be drafted.

3-star recruits had a 6 percent chance of being drafted, 4-stars 23.5 percent and 5-stars 62.3 percent

Since 2015- Alabama has had 87 draft picks

75- 4 and 5 star players

12 - 3 star players

Since 2015- Georgia has had 71 draft picks

56 - 4 and 5 stars players

15 - 3 star players

I am not making that argument but there are
32 5* each year
300-330 4* each year
1500 3* each year

257 picks in NFL draft. 96 were 3 stars. That means this year 38% of players drafted were 3 stars

OK, but the fact of the matter is this that 1994 team did not win the national championship because Nebraska won the national championship that year and of course they beat Miami in the orange bowl to win it. So what are you talking about here? It wasn’t even a split national championship, Nebraska won both the coaches and AP pole in 1994. So again, you’re wrong here. Penn States last national championship was in 1986 and as a canes fan I’ll never forget that day.

Ahh that was a miserable sweltering night in the old girl in 94...but we got sweet revenge just 5 yrs later, still one of my fave games attended of all time.

It's called a "national championship". Whether you like it or not. They were undefeated and won the national championship on NINE different services that are all recognized by the NCAA. Not one. Not two. NINE.

I never said it was AP/UPI. But they are a recognized national champion for that year. Ask UCF.

You are wrong. Again.
