Tears Gator Tears

Sure, but Oregon would be stupid to take him, IMO. They could do much better. I don’t think Lagway is ever going to be good enough for an Oregon-caliber school even post-surgery/rehab.

And he needs to sit a year no matter where he goes, so whichever school takes him is gambling to an extent. He’s had half a dozen injuries over the past 12 months, and no recovery time. The shoulder issue has been going on for three years (minimum). But a G5 school can brag that they have a 5* recruit on their roster now, and it’s a win-win for everyone.
Dante Moore’s numbers in two seasons at UCLA look very Lagway-esque. 53.5% 11/9 TD/INT 125.6 Rating.

Interesting. I bet a lot of G5 schools would have beaten UCLA these past two years. USF absolutely could have.

Look, all jokes aside, Lagway is physically and mentally gone now. He needs a year off to fix the physical, but the right coaching to even attempt the mental. The TVD comparisons on 100% accurate. If he gets lucky enough for a P4 school to take him, it would have to be a Wake or Purdue - a bottom-feeder. He’s not worth nearly as much in NIL as he was just a couple months ago, and there’s a chance he may never even start again and he may not make it to the NFL. The kid has a major shoulder issue that they have put off having surgery on for several years now, on his throwing arm - plus in the past 12 months he’s had a hernia, and injuries to his hamstring, foot/ankle, and core, all of which have been bad enough to sideline him. And his entire college career he’s been coached by SpongeBath Billy, so now he is going to have to UNLEARN a LOT of bad habits too. He’s a mess, and this is why I feel so badly for the kid because he is a really good kid and he deserved so much better.

I believe we’ve talked about this before in here, but what he should do is stay at UF, take advantage of Shands’s good medical care, and switch to baseball. And get his degree. The UF degree and medical care will be the best things for him long-term, and baseball will be better for him too. He doesn’t have a real future in football.

Hypothetically, couldn’t Lagway transfer to Miami with a plan to redshirt is 2026? Spend the season rehabilitating. Could possibly even switch to baseball. I wouldn’t pay him a large NIL deal for Year 1. But he can look at playing football in 2027 at a better program than Wake Forest or Purdue.

Will never happen though.

Of course he could.

But we’d be stupid to take him on the football team.

Even more stupid to pay him money to be on the football team.

Oh, this will really **** them off. Seems Kirby may be starting up his own Saban Analyst program, and SpongeBath Billy may be the first fired corch!

Lmao ain’t no way

This is not an exaggeration, this is an observation based on infiltrating the Gator boards.

They have the WORST sportswriters covering The Gator. Imagine Gary Ferman, CLONED about 30 or 40 times.

Yes, it's that bad.

PS, one exception, the sportswriter for The Gainesville Sun who covers the UF beat, Kevin Brockway, is a very good guy. HE'S A CANE and used to write for The Miami Hurricane back when LeBastard was the Sports Editor.

Unfortunately Lane to UF Seems inevitable
There is a small part of me that thinks he is actually telling the Florida search team yes and will rug pull and troll them. Is that maybe hopium on my end sure, but it would not be too out of character for Lane. The way he is so obviously hinting at Florida is weird to me.

UF hasn’t even offered him yet, nor have they talked to him directly. They’ve only talked to his people to gauge interest, and that’s it so far.

My Bull Gator partner is acting too smug when I ask how things are going. As I previously posted, he said they have a deal already. $13M for six years with over $25M NIL for next year. I sure hope Lane is trolling………..*

*fingers crossed
They don’t have a deal with him yet, because there isn’t an official offer yet.
