Tears Gator Tears

Broken QB in my opinion.
I don’t think he’s worthless but he’s going to have to go somewhere that he can maybe redshirt, get healthy and start fresh. If he transfers somewhere that’s going to depend on him to come in right away and carry the team, he’s screwed. Dude wasted two years playing for Billy.

Very doubtful anyone serious picks him up for a RS year, IMO. I’d be shocked if he would go for that either. He needs to go to a program that wins on scheme. He still looks just like his HS film, there isn’t a presnap read cell in his brain. I bet Louisville could figure out something for him.

At some point schools will realize that they can pay a coach 6-7 and use the other 6 towards a roster

That would be my formula in this situation. There are only a few decent proven P4 HCs out there with even minimal interest in switching; everyone else is a crap shoot. Give a young G5 or FCS or OC guy the reigns with a roster full of talent and a short leash. See what he can do and extend his contract and increase his pay only if he performs.

These 10 year 100+ million commitments are insanity. Kiffen is already generationally rich. He could pull a Belichik and go tail chasing or decide to put that all up his nose and say FU to the program and they couldn’t do a **** thing about it.

Sounds great i hope you speak of the canes current season RIGHT NOW with butterflies az u do with usc.

Usc and miami are mirroring each other as programs. Dare i say we are better program with less built in advantages that usc has.

Yes, right now is what's important. Not sure about butterflies.

The two programs are similar. Private, urban universities although USC is larger. USC does have built-in advantages, but seems unable to benefit since Pete Carroll. Poor HC hires and AD hires. Trojans seemed to love former players as AD. Haden, Davis, Swann. Ugh.

Not that I care unless Miami joins the Big 10.

Canes current season is a disappointment. I agree with you. Same old Mario. He doesn't change and neither will the overall results unless he manages to finds another elite QB.

Just hoping NC State is not another loss as a double-digit favorite.

Have a great day.

People on other social media sites (IG and Twitter) keep saying that Lagway will be transferring to UM or FSU, which we all know isn’t true, but honestly, what major FBS school is going to take him right now? He needs surgery and rehab before he can play anyway, and he’s got to get his back on straight. Does he try a “lower” FBS school first?

He could transfer to somewhere to sit a yr like Moore did at Oregon. **** he could go to Oregon...

Sure, but Oregon would be stupid to take him, IMO. They could do much better. I don’t think Lagway is ever going to be good enough for an Oregon-caliber school even post-surgery/rehab.

And he needs to sit a year no matter where he goes, so whichever school takes him is gambling to an extent. He’s had half a dozen injuries over the past 12 months, and no recovery time. The shoulder issue has been going on for three years (minimum). But a G5 school can brag that they have a 5* recruit on their roster now, and it’s a win-win for everyone.

Dante Moore’s numbers in two seasons at UCLA look very Lagway-esque. 53.5% 11/9 TD/INT 125.6 Rating.

Interesting. I bet a lot of G5 schools would have beaten UCLA these past two years. USF absolutely could have.

Look, all jokes aside, Lagway is physically and mentally gone now. He needs a year off to fix the physical, but the right coaching to even attempt the mental. The TVD comparisons on 100% accurate. If he gets lucky enough for a P4 school to take him, it would have to be a Wake or Purdue - a bottom-feeder. He’s not worth nearly as much in NIL as he was just a couple months ago, and there’s a chance he may never even start again and he may not make it to the NFL. The kid has a major shoulder issue that they have put off having surgery on for several years now, on his throwing arm - plus in the past 12 months he’s had a hernia, and injuries to his hamstring, foot/ankle, and core, all of which have been bad enough to sideline him. And his entire college career he’s been coached by SpongeBath Billy, so now he is going to have to UNLEARN a LOT of bad habits too. He’s a mess, and this is why I feel so badly for the kid because he is a really good kid and he deserved so much better.

I believe we’ve talked about this before in here, but what he should do is stay at UF, take advantage of Shands’s good medical care, and switch to baseball. And get his degree. The UF degree and medical care will be the best things for him long-term, and baseball will be better for him too. He doesn’t have a real future in football.

Hypothetically, couldn’t Lagway transfer to Miami with a plan to redshirt is 2026? Spend the season rehabilitating. Could possibly even switch to baseball. I wouldn’t pay him a large NIL deal for Year 1. But he can look at playing football in 2027 at a better program than Wake Forest or Purdue.

Will never happen though.

Of course he could.

But we’d be stupid to take him on the football team.

Even more stupid to pay him money to be on the football team.
