I dont think Strong does better than Mcelwain if they hire him. His offense has continually struggled since he lost Bridgewater. They are sick and tired of crappy offenses and that is exactly what he brings to the table. UGA is only going to get better and South Carolina and Mizzou seem to be getting better. Mcelwain was lucky to win the East 2 times with all of them in the dumpster. Strong would have it much tougher

Teddy ain’t playing for the Vikings and has a year left.Maybe Strong could get him back to play one more year to get him through the transition..lol

I think it was his son that tweeted Chip was a done deal and it was going to be announced soon..

That wasn't Strickland's son that tweeted that it was a UAA member's son. Strickland is the AD and he must've tweeted something coy.

actually you have a lot of boosters like that but I agree.They wanted him gone and they wanted him gone NOW so they could go after Kelly.

UCLA has a history of being cheap and I have to believe if there's a hang up with Chip it's in the money he will want to pay asst's and what UCLA is willing to pay.Good news is if Chip is OK with it he can continue to let the 49ers pay most of his salary for the foreseeable future and then UCLA can take the money that would normally be dedicated to the HC to pay asst's..just a thought.
 
You would think it makes more sense for Mike Norvell to go to Tennessee given he's currently at Memphis. I guess UT really thinks they are getting Gruden or else he'd be the more logical choice for them.

UCLA could probably offer Chip 4.5-5.5 million and its a go.

Nice work by Chip's agent to pump up the hype for Chip to get a better deal.
 
ok just looked and the 49ers owe Chip 25 million over the next 3 years so in essence that's what UCLA has to play with if Kelly and his agent want to help UCLA.Also his staff that was with him was owed 44 million which sounds like a lot to me but I would think any money owed to them would work the same as Kellys.

any difference between what he signs for or they sign for 49ers pick up the difference.Not sure how many of his staff are running around out there.

But the long and short of it is Kelly is going to make a little over 8 million a year for the next 2 years wherever the money is coming from( i'm assuming 2017 has or is being paid)
