he would cook behind our OL. Decent arm is a true understatement. The dude can make EVERY throw. I realize he gets some hate for trying to be mini-Pat Mahomes, but put that hate aside, he's got everything the NFL is looking for outside of being a true dual-threat.
I don't think people realize how poor Nebraska's OL has been/is.
Give him Miami's OL/protection and he'd carve people up
Hoover was my nickname in college.
Me too I was team hoover! But he is a pure gunslinger those type of qb's scare me...he is mateer light.leavit

some interesting names that hadn't been mentioned: angeli, becht, hoover ... earlier in the year i was a hoover fan
Also, whoever it is.. it has got to be wrapped up quickly. We’ve loss out on difference makers at WR’s 2 years in a row, due to it taking so long.
Malik Washington has flashed throughout the seasonSorsby or Becht are the "Safe" options at portal QB
The Long Term plays are Mestemaker and JKS.
Well we certainly never have to wonder if Mario and Mirabal are gonna invest a wild amount of resources into the OLgo offensive line and defense heavy in the portal
Safe bet is after everyone else gets theirsWhat’s the timeline on getting a QB?
Not gonna ask why.Hoover was my nickname in college.
If Ty Simpson returns to school, Keelon Russell is sitting at Bama. But would yall really be comfortable with depending on a kid with no experience? From his list, Mestamaker is the only one I’d feel genuinely excited about both for the full package he offers as a player plus the additional eligibility.
Leavitt and Sorsby both have the athleticism but are hurting seriously in the accuracy department. Sorsby in particular goes through stretches where he can’t seem to hit the broad side of a barn. And That’s usually something that doesnt improve much. Leavitt’s injury has to be a serious consideration.
JKS’s ceiling is crazy high, but he’s still really, really raw. With him you’re gambling on major development.
I was intrigued by Hoover initially but he’s just not mobile enough and has looked way too inconsistent
Sellers tools obviously pop but man, EVERY time I happen to watch him he just looks awful.
The rest ……mehhhh
Wonder if there’s a highly rated prospect on one of the elite rosters like Alabama or OSU that hasn’t played yet that we could nab.
This may be the year where we’ve had to go “back to the well” one too many times and it finally bites us. Hopefully not.
Where did this JKS is super accurate narrative come from? He's completing 62.2%. That's good but not eliteJks and mestamaker have 3 yrs. Which is a huge benefit over the others. Both super accurate but no run game. This new qb each year isn’t a great strategy bec it takes them time to really feel comfortable in the new O. I assume our qb recruiting will die off after this round. Part of me wants to see how Luke and Coleman do but the part of me that needs to win slapped that part of me to the curb.
Bring in a one year rental and then Luke and Coleman battle it out for the 2027 seasonAll that list really tells me is I hope Luke Nickel is legit and we spend that couple million on a receiver and some other help
From his list, yes to #’s 1,2,3 & 5.leavit

I think that’s the move as wellBring in a one year rental and then Luke and Coleman battle it out for the 2027 season
This is dumb on so many levels including removing a generational slot WR from our receiving core.He outdueled Dreon (our qb commit this year) in high school for the state championship already.
He would wreck college football - but since we as Miami fans don’t deserve nice things apparently, it’ll never happen. Sigh
That wouldI want the guy who doesn’t get rattled with the initial pass rush and is comfortable in the pocket so he can extend plays.
Bonus if he has any speed/vision as a runner when needed.
Double bonus if he is mature enough to audible out of plays the defense is counting on.
