bailey
steve angeli
nico

some interesting names that hadn't been mentioned: angeli, becht, hoover ... earlier in the year i was a hoover fan
Mestamaker is going to Okie State with his coach.

Leavitt, JKS, Sellers, Bailey would be my top 4

A statue back there with a decent arm.
Needs an elite OL to look good.
His grandpa played for the Canes FWIW.
he would cook behind our OL. Decent arm is a true understatement. The dude can make EVERY throw. I realize he gets some hate for trying to be mini-Pat Mahomes, but put that hate aside, he's got everything the NFL is looking for outside of being a true dual-threat.

I don't think people realize how poor Nebraska's OL has been/is.

Give him Miami's OL/protection and he'd carve people up

Call me crazy but…

Malachi would win more games than any of them.

Yea I realize that’s a pipe dream and would slow his progress to playing his true money making position (in the nfl). But g****… part of me would love to see baby Jesus just run ****. In college ball… he’d be as close to unstoppable as there is.

Yeah like am mostly joking when I say QB1 for Toney, but that pass he completed last week makes me think it could actually work out really well. On the run, looked deep first, went to another progression, and threw a dart. Impressive stuff

Also, whoever it is.. it has got to be wrapped up quickly. We’ve loss out on difference makers at WR’s 2 years in a row, due to it taking so long.
Have heard Pete and D say it’s going to move faster this year. They (UM behind the scenes) also said that last year, though. We missed on Mateer and then next plan didn’t enter the portal.

This year if you want to pursue Leavitt, you wrap it up quick, if he wants to take visits and play games, go to Bailey and get it done.

I think Sellers is going to toy with the NFL and a bidding war. Hopefully we don’t find ourselves tied up in that situation.

He outdueled Dreon (our qb commit this year) in high school for the state championship already.

He would wreck college football - but since we as Miami fans don’t deserve nice things apparently, it’ll never happen. Sigh

Already starting to tax him with workload. Let him keep doing what he’s doing & find a competent QB or hope Nickle is an option.

Tax him?

Dude hasn’t slowed down a bit. If anything, he’s ramping it up. No freshman wall for Malachi that I’ve seen…

Between his talent and will to win, he’d win a ship here if not two… I fully believe it.

But…yea.. back to hoping Nickel or a transfer is the answer.

As for me, I’d rather give Mali the keys and go spend on a wr or two - if needed.

We’d have to drastically change our offense to fit some of these run first guys. I understand wanting a guy who can run in today’s game but there’s a huge difference between quarterbacks who can run and runners who play quarterback. Apt of these guys are net negatives in the passing game.

This list proves you can't soley rely on the Portal for starting QBs.

Miami hit the jackpot with Ward and did very well with Beck (although opinions vary) but planning on this kind of success or luck isn't going come through every offseason.

You have to recruit and develop QBs from HS. The recruit doesn't have be a 5* bidding war. We've seen too many, perhaps most (?) not live up to the hype and not worth the price. The kid at Pittsburgh is a TF 3-star. Find kids like him.

But here we are, going into 2026 with Emory, Judd, Nickel and Coleman unless a portal transfer hits. And that's assuming Emory, Judd, or Nickel don't transfer.
