There are zero sure things on this list. And certainly no one who is worth what Beck made this year.
 
I want the guy who doesn’t get rattled with the initial pass rush and is comfortable in the pocket so he can extend plays.

Bonus if he has any speed/vision as a runner when needed.

Double bonus if he is mature enough to audible out of plays the defense is counting on.

I wanted Sorsby this year. He would have been cheaper. He’s not a top dollar QB. No one on that list is but that’s gonna be the market I guess

It actually reads like the same QB basically over and over again

To be fair though I think we can win a lot of games with many of them as well. I wouldn’t necessarily hate any of the options either

Yeah being serious for a second here, of the 1 year guys on that list Becht strikes me as the highest floor/least risk type guy. We should have a pretty good offense with him with the talent we have coming back at the skill positions and supplement it a bit in the portal.

I like Hoover like you like Sorsby, but it's definitely possible he's an INT machine here like it's possible Sorsby has a couple of games when he struggles to complete a forward pass.

The advanced metrics are hit or miss on him.

His deep ball passing grade is not the best.
But Mario and Dawson haven’t exactly thrown the ball downfield a ton since they have been here anyway.
Beck has one of the worst average depth of throws.
And even Ward wasn’t connecting on a ton of passes with a lot of air under them.

He’s also playing for an OC that taught our OC. It’s the same passing concepts. So there wouldn’t be a learning curve.

Sorsby's play has been all over the place. He's also 1-11 in his career (and 0 for his last 10) in November games. Is that really what we want to pair with Mario?

Nico just isn't it. I explained why in a long post in the transfer QB thread. And Angeli has what? Like 4 career starts?

I don't think JKS or Hoover are realistic unfortunately.

If Mestemaker doesn't follow Morris, everybody is going to be beating down his door. Texas Tech needs a new QB too.

Sellers is a great kid and possesses all the tools to be high draft pick. But after the season he just had I wouldn't go that route.

Sellers intrigues me a little because of the dual threat but feel we need a more proven passer.

High floor low ceiling is probably a good title for the majority of the group honestly

I don’t know much about Hoover though I will also add that. I guess it also depends if Dawson is here next year. Part of why I liked Sorsby last year was I like the fit with Dawson

I don’t know any insider stuff but right now I think I’d be shocked if Dawson comes back
