FSU looking at Willie Taggart to replace Jimbo

We should be hoping for Fuente. Solid but unspectacular.

Fuente took over a Memphis program that was 3-21 in the previous two years. He won a conference championship in his 3rd year and ended with a winning record (26-23).

Fuente would be way worse for us than Taggart.

Taggart would be about as good as we could hope.

I really find it hard to be impressed with winning at schools like USF or UCF. Terrible conferences, rarely play good OOC games, and they have Florida talent. Charlie Strong looks good right now too.

Charlie Strong and Willie Taggart have something in common: Quinton Flowers.

Strong had the same thing happen at Louisville. Mid-major conference with better athletes than his opposition and he found a transformative quarterback.

He was 7-6 prior to Bridgewater. That's probably where South Florida will revert back to next year. 7-5 or something like that.

Nope...Strong was 7-6 with true freshman Bridgewater, & Taggart was 4-8 with true freshman Flowers.

LOL...and why does the "He only won because He had such & such QB" argument only apply to black coaches?

I don't see you saying that Meyer is less of a coach because He had Josh Harris, Alex Smith, & Tim Tebow...why Strong & Taggart?

And who ever said that you don't need talent to win?

Really, it's pretty evident TB made Strong the numbers don't lie. As for Taggert I couldn't care less, but you are right about Meyer. Conversely every black coach ever mentioned is automatically going to "clean up" in recruiting South Florida so it goes both ways.

Is this a free shoes board,,,,? 5 threads on top half of this page about them. I find their whole situation hilarious but meanwhile Canes play their most important game since their last NC game Sat night.

2 years in & Richt has turned the state of Florida on it’s head. Incredible.

YESSIR!!

1st year- Miami wins 9 games and WINS it bowl (beating a solid West Virginia team)..

2nd year- Miami win 10 games and playing for the right to represent the ACC in the CFB playoff!!

Jimbo sees the writing on the wall VERY VERY clear, so he's headed out before any notices it..

Assistant coaches maybe, but not head coaches.

Meyer has won national championships with two teams.
Charlie Strong has a losing record in Power 5 conferences. (16-21 in three years)
Willie Taggert has a losing record overall and is 7-5 in his one year in the Power 5.
See how if you leave race out of it these don't compare?

*****, please...the same arguments that you're making against Strong & Taggart, are the same arguments that you can make against Saban & Meyer.

Urban was the lucky recipient of 3 talented QBs (Harris, Smith, & Tebow)...2 decling programs in UM & FSU when He was at UF...& a loaded roster that Tressel left behind.

****, Meyer inherited a loaded roster at UF, even thanked Zook for it.

And Saban was a middle of the road coach until He got to LSU.

LOL...matter of fact, Saban, Strong, & Taggart have more in common than you think.

Saban's QB when He finally won 10 games?...a black QB from Miami, Rohan Davey...LMAO!

It's all relative.

They're all under 5'9?

That's the only comparison between those three.

Taggart and Strong took over dumpster fires though.
Meyer always inherited good teams.

I can't speak for others but my factual representation of Taggart's career has nothing to do with race.

Give me an example of a white coach similar to Charlie Strong and I'll say the same thing about him.

This is not a good look for you.

First you tried to pull this stunt with Meyer and Saban only to realize how silly that was.
