FSU looking at Willie Taggart to replace Jimbo

Meyer literally won a national championship with a backup QB.

3rd string, really.

Meyer wins the first ever college football playoff with a 3rd string quarterback....

....Taggart's record with a quarterback other than Quinton Flowers.

2-10
7-5
7-5
2-10
4-8
7-5

You can add his record this year at Oregon to the list. They were balling until his QB (who's legit) broke his collarbone. Think they only won one game after.

A real Coach who has recruited correctly and has developed his players won't see his team spiral out of control simply bc the QB went down. Wouldn't happen to a Saban team. Wouldn't happen to a Meyer team. I think it's total BS that Jimbo got a pass from the national media bc Frenchie went down.

I had no idea who taggart was until Oregon hired him away from usf. Lol if he pulls a lane kiffin on Oregon.

Oregon's only been relevant since the end of the Bellotti era, and even then, that whole era was a bit shaky, save for their 2000 and 2001 teams (they should have played us in the Rose)...Chip Kelly obviously had them as high flyers, and Helfrich pulled a Coker-esque performance on them. If they didn't have the lightning yellow uniforms, they'd be Boston College.

Look at Lane Kiffin.

Inherits a 3-9 FAU team and goes 9-3 with a division title in year 1.

Willie Taggart would've gone 2-10 and his fans would've complained about the dumpster fire he inherited.

I would hate them hiring Jeremy Pruitt over taggart tbh. Pruitt is an elite coach

If you know the true reason about why Pruitt left FSU -- after winning a national championship -- you'd know it'll be really hard for him to come back, especially in this modern climate of zero tolerance in regards to sexual harassment.

FSU's best hire imo would actually be Mark Stoops.

Meyer has won national championships with two teams.
Charlie Strong has a losing record in Power 5 conferences. (16-21 in three years)
Willie Taggert has a losing record overall and is 7-5 in his one year in the Power 5.
See how if you leave race out of it these don't compare?

*****, please...the same arguments that you're making against Strong & Taggart, are the same arguments that you can make against Saban & Meyer.

Urban was the lucky recipient of 3 talented QBs (Harris, Smith, & Tebow)...2 decling programs in UM & FSU when He was at UF...& a loaded roster that Tressel left behind.

****, Meyer inherited a loaded roster at UF, even thanked Zook for it.

And Saban was a middle of the road coach until He got to LSU.

LOL...matter of fact, Saban, Strong, & Taggart have more in common than you think.

Saban's QB when He finally won 10 games?...a black QB from Miami, Rohan Davey...LMAO!

It's all relative.

You say those guys were middle of the road coaches. Fine.
But Strong has a losing record in the Power 5 and Taggert has a losing record overall. That’s not middle of the road.
Besides once you win a natty, you forever have earned the right to the benefit of the doubt.
Taggert is 7-5. Strong was a train wreck at his last job.

Comparing them to Saban and Urban hurts your point. If you want to pull the race card find some white coaches with losing records who people are calling great coaches. You can’t

Taggart is a great recruiter, but FSU has already been bringing in Top 5 classes annually.

He's a significant step down from Jimbo in terms of Coaching ability. He'd likely have a bunch of 9 and 10 win seasons at FSU. Good, but not at Clemson's level and probably also below us as long as Richt continues to build.

I'd much rather face a Taggart coached FSU than a Jimbo coached one, that's for sure

Sumlin or Taggert?

Coker?...Chizik?...yeah?...LMAO!

COker got the benefit of the doubt allowing for him to stay 7 years when the program was in decline after two. But it’s always obvious that you lost when you only quote one sentence in the post.

What about Chizik?...how many years did He get after He won the NC with Newton?...LOL

Fair enough. I’ll get back to the point though , SabAn and Meyer have won national championships with two different schools. So you can say what you want about great QB’s but nobody questions them as great coaches.

It’s funny that you even thought you could compare Strong and Taggart to them.
