FSU is broke

With effort like this....

Holy ****, F$U really gets what it deserves...

When you want to understand EXACTLY HOW RACIST the F$U and UF fans are, look no further than this post.

Yes, the "old Miami ways" (i.e., "SCARFACE") would involve using illegl money that will not be "scrutinized". Uh...why? Particularly when some of our largest donors are either running publicly traded corporations (the Mas brothers) or have massive wealth from large family businesses (the Soffers).

Yes, indeed, the Mas family and the Soffer family "couldn't donate their money to UM directly", right?

How did they more than double their debt in just a year?
One time capital projects, make it go high in one year.
Meanwhile the continued debt servicing following previous years.

Typically when you get funds from boosters, don't they all put it in a pot to fund said project, so it wouldn't come out of financial spending? Seems weird financial footwork.

Even if they put 200mil on the stadium reno, 237mil continued debt is A LOT.

It's the nice benefit of using Hard Rock, since U of Miami doesn't pay for eff all on it other then a lease of use for games, permanent change room, etc.

Nonetheless, that ain't looking good financially. Expect tuition to go up at FSU I guess...

The 237 continued debt is what makes the Norvell buyout stuff so funny

Like yes yes. You should absolutely open that new high interest credit card to try and pay off your old one

Sir, you can't list the names of three guys (two of whom transferred OUT OF Colorado) and act like the recruiting is great "because 5 stars".

The fact remains, after those "headliners", the rest of Colorado's recruits have been mid. Colorado routinely misses both the Top 50 overall, and the Top 10 OF THEIR OWN CONFERENCE.

So when you get one quality guy per cycle, and about 40 or 50 guys of "quantity", the overall recruiting accomplishment is not good.

We understand. Coach Neon can occasionally slide in to land a kid with whom he has a relationship (Hunter) or a guy who decides to spurn the home team to make snow angels in Colorado (McClain). But he is not landing 5-stars with the frequency that he needs in order to offset the rest of his lazy recruiting, and he isn't developing/retaining those 5-stars, outside of Hunter.

I'm no Deion shill, nor do I root for him or FSU, but I do think him going to FSU could e a lot of fun and bring more attention and eyeballs to our moribund rivalry.

"If you build it, they will come."

FSU: "We built it, but they aren't coming."

"I was talking about the team itself, you idiots."

This is funny, but also sums it up perfectly. FSU didn’t read the tea leaves and realize that the facilities arms race came and went. The big money now has to be spent on player acquisition and retention. Notice how UM saw it coming and put the brakes on that football center for a little bit and went all in all building the roster. We can see how it’s turning out for both programs.

Lack of foresight is a *****.
