Will they have the money to buy out Norvell and also pay the buyout for a big time coaching hire?
dude, what recruiting prowess for Deion- are you paying attention?Right before they got crushed by UGA (and Beck), they were 13-0 and must've thought that Norvell had built a machine to last for decades. Prison Mike really did hit it just right and caught lightning in a bottle:
- To his credit, he struck gold in the portal before the other players caught on. As much as we make fun of him, I do tip my cap for that. He mitigated his weakness (Recruiting and development) and found a huge opportunity in the portal.
- He had a (for FSU) generational QB who was not only a playmaker, but was also very twitchy so he could mask not the greatest OL for FSU. BTW, elite QB's aren't everything, but they really do make the difference.
- As an example, Dabo did a great job in multiple areas when he had his run, but the true difference maker was having 2 great QB's in a row, then a good QB, who he then replaced with the best QB he ever had (Sunshine). Then, although he's had two 5 star QB's in a row, neither of them panned out like the other QB's and low and behold, the game has "passed him by".
- The Noles were so desperate to regain the Jameis "He actually is a rapist...that's real, BTW" Winston years, that when they had those two 10 win seasons, they thought they were entering a new golden age.
- But, instead of a new golden age, it was all a giant hallucination. Jordan Travis and the timing of the Portal's emergence was the perfect storm, and now they truly are a damaged and destroyed program as a result.
- I'm pretty sure the answer for FSU is not Manny, it's Deion. With his branding, recruiting prowess, history with the program, etc., he could bring them back sooner rather than later. His excitement could get their donors to put in new money. But, since they're caught in a cycle of mismanagement like we were in for years, they'll probably hire Manny... or hire Lane after the Tigah's fire him in 3 years.
No man, I'm not paying attention. You are I guess. RIght?dude, what recruiting prowess for Deion- are you paying attention?
BTW, Seaton was a 5 star, he got him. Cormani was a 5 star and the top CB, he got him, he convinced Travis Hunter (5 star and top rated player in the country) to go to an HBCU school and then follow him to Colorado. He beat us out for a top WR that we really wanted and got him to go to that HBCU school.dude, what recruiting prowess for Deion- are you paying attention?
We aren't shopping in the same circles. They can keep all their recruits.Lets get a twitter hashtag trending for negative recruiting purposes.
#povertyFSU has a nice ring to it.

Deion has been a great hire for Colorado if you are a reality show type of guy but on the football field? More bad than good imho and his health is a question mark to say the least. It wouldn't be the homerun hire you think it is for them.Right before they got crushed by UGA (and Beck), they were 13-0 and must've thought that Norvell had built a machine to last for decades. dude he got one or two big guys since he got to Colorado. That's it- money of course. One is gone nowBTW, Seaton was a 5 star, he got him. But, I guess besides all of that, he can't recruit.
Oh, I don't have any delusions regarding Deion and I am a Cane through and through and love seeing them suffer after their fanbase showed who they are the last few years. But, as a CFB fan and a member of the ACC, FSU getting better would make that W look better. And, I do think that Deion is gettable as opposed to other coaches who might be able to come in and rescue them.Deion has been a great hire for Colorado if you are a reality show type of guy but on the football field?
