Frost Says No To UF, Mullen Going To Gata

Are they recruiting for Urban Meyer this time?

Its UF man. I know we hate to admit it, but their brand is strong. Like UM theyre always one good coach away from a quick rebound. Mullen is straight. Theyll get their guys.

They got their guys with shark****er.....Mullen won’t be Elite

Bet he pulls in aTop 10 class every year.

Based on him or the Gator? Shark****er was an imbecile and they did well.

Thats kinda my point. Uf sells itself so Im not sure where this talk about him beubg a liability on the rrail is coming from.

I think it's mostly wishful thinking from our fanbase. He'll do fine recruiting wise and was a good hire for them. Should make August 2019 pretty interesting.

If this happens, we'll find put who is right about Mullen. He won't have the "it's Mississippi State" excuse anymore as Florida has all the resources to win and recruit from.

Mullen is like taking your best friend’s sister to prom. U know she’s always there. But if you take her it means you struck out ina Big way.

Mullen's offense is flat out boring. He is also not a very personable guy.But he was the best UF could get.

Hiring in the SEC is not going to be easy for anyone.

The turnover is steep and the guys who lose their jobs either end up back at a lesser SEC school or wash out of the coaching game altogether.

SEC jobs are horrible. Terrible quality of life, insane fanbases, unrealistic expectations.

I think most SEC school locations would be prison towns if the university wasn't located there. Like there was a coin toss between Gainesville and Raiford, FL and Gainesville won (kinda).

Just look at the list of guys who've washed out of coaching since Saban has been in Tuscaloosa:

Washed out:
Jim McElwain
Butch Jones
Hugh Freeze
Gary Pinkel
Steve Spurrier
Derek Dooley
Joker Phillips
Gene Chizik
Bret Bielema
John L. Smith
Houston Nutt
Robbie Caldwell
Rich Brooks
Phillip Fulmer
Sylvester Croom

Recycled:
Will Muschamp
Dan Mullen
Ed Orgeron

James Franklin, Tommy Tuberville, Lane Kiffin and Bobby Petrino are the only guys who left an SEC job and didn't ruin their careers.

Dan Mullen leaving #MissState for #UF , leaves behind a talented team for 2018.. Two names to keep in mind for the HC vacancy there: #Miami DC Manny Diaz (a former MSU asst) and #OhioState Co-OC Ryan Day (like Mullen, an Urban Meyer protege).. Both really smart coordinators.

I will be surprised if Manny doesnt get an interview

Taggart was the best choice.

UF is done in SFL.
Some kids down here have an affinity for UiF, so long as the coach appears competent they will get some kids down here, annoying as it is.

His biggest challenge there is the delusional fan base. Even if he can average a 10 win season there, he will get run out of town.

I can't say it enough. Florida just axed their head coach in less than 3 years time after he won their division twice and was awarded conference coach of the year. You can't make this stuff up! No wonder Chip Kelly and Scott Frost are looking elsewhere!

Manny would be a good hire for them. I think he would stay though, hes a Miami guy.

Agreed. But I wouldn’t be mad at Manny if he took the job. I’m sure coach Richt would find another aggressive DC to replace Manny or promote coach Kool to DC which he probably deserves at this point anyway.

Big list, although Pinkel retired due to health issues. I wouldn’t label him a ‘wash out’.

How many of those guys beat Saban, even once? Sumlin and Spurrier did, and I think Freeze beat Bama in consecutive seasons. Chizik the year he bought Cam Newton.

UF doesn't sell itself completely.

Urban always had top 3 classes but McElwain only had 1 even Top 10. Coaching matters.

Chip, Frost, and Taggart would have crushed recruiting.

Mullen will be good, but not elite and he probably won't even focus that much on South Florida
