From Quality Inn, my thoughts on the SMU loss..

We’re stuck with Mario .. end of story …. Won’t be any changes to our offense … as k9 has said .it … it is what it is .. .

This will not change. Mario thinks he’s right and just needs better execution. I’ve met 50
Mario’s in my life. He’s my old HS coach that played a 50 defense with single high cover 1 with 7 yard cushions even though the whole country switched to the spread on offense. He the baseball coach that still tries to string 5 hits together in a row when pitchers throw 99.

He doesn’t spend time on details. Or scheme. Or special teams. Or anything like that. Literally just be tough and conditioned with the right body types. He believes it with his whole heart. And so it will be for us

Why are you stuck on the two outliers and ignoring the fact that by and large, the QB’s that make it to and win NC’s, are seldom the running QB’s.

How many UM QB’s have won NC’s and were a threat to run? Nada.

Saban won all those trophies with one single QB that could run, and he pulled him at halftime and put Tua in. Even his LSU trophy was with a guy that didn’t run.

The Miami advantage (athletes and speed) is totally eliminated by Mario’s conservative philosophy

Coaching and scheme makes a massive massive difference

As I’ve said, the Oline has been overrated and not much being said about it.

I’d like clarity on what role Mirabel has on the offense. When we spread it out today and ran, successful - I did notice many of the false start penalties were in spaced out alignments (not sure why/what that might mean).

When we run condensed, it often got blown up.

Why isn’t Mirabel ever questioned? Or someone ask Mario about Mirabel’s involvement in the run game scheme. Or why they false start so much. My spidey senses tell me Mirabel is some writers inside scoop, and we get things at the beginning of the fall like “the Oline is as advertised and might be the best unit in CFB” Like what the f happened between then and now?

But at the end of the day, I also blame Mario and any media. Back in the day, the writers challenged coaches with tough questions and wrote strong opinions. These days I don’t see much of that.

Hope you are right but anyone on this board with a history of being plugged in has said he is basically immune. “Columbus cartel” BS.

Neg me to Bolivian, this is worse than anything we’ve had to put up with as fans. No HC at UM has ever had anywhere near the resources he has. They gave him the key to the city. All he had to do was not be a ****** ****** schematically.

Literally could ask Madden and we would be calling a better offense.

Have won championships with multiple different hcs....there are teams winning with much less than we currently have two of the tweams that just beat us dont have our nil or talent.

The school and incredibly important boosters are all in on Mario, If you think they will support the next HC after a failed Mario regime then idk what to tell you. We need this to work.

It’s an op to gaslight people into blind loyalty to Mario. When in reality as you just said, they’d hop on the bandwagon the second this team won 10 games without him
