Maybe if Coley was interim, Carroll would be our OC and use the goad**** WRs more. ******* Ronald Regula on the field while Dorsett and Waters are on the sidleine. **** is ridiculous.

The few times I watched Regula he blocked absolutely no one.

Not for nothing, but I don't put a lot of stock in all these "former player" complaints. Former players are always complaining when the team isn't winning.
There were a LOT of former players calling for Butch to be fired in 97 and 98, so much so that he went to the media and publically blasted a lot of them and blamed them for the mess they left the program in.
Former players were blasting Coker and Shannon too.
Golden has to exceed expectations the rest of this season, or next year, the knife will be to this throat right out of the gate, from EVERYONE. Right now, the fanbase is ****ed, but barring a total collapse, I don't see him getting bounced after this season.

agreed. I dont like Coley as an OC so far but as far as just holding down the fort wrt recruiting, he would be the best option.
the new staff will likely have to keep him on in some capacity for recruiting purposes only

I know it's really ******* simple to just ***** and be a revisionist, but you know why Coley and Carroll could do a better job? Because they know they don't know everything.
Golden thinks he's the smartest ****** in the room. Same **** with Shannon. Shannon and his smug, ******* jerkoffedness (new word). These ******* guys and their egos are exactly the problem. If you have an ego like Saban, and the knowledge to back it up, you will go far. If you have an ego like Saban, and the knowledge of....**** I dont know.....a moron.....well then this is what you get.

Co Sign with this. If you are going to sh*tcan AG, Coley is the best option for Interim HC. He's the best salesman on the staff and can keep recruiting from imploding until they get a new staff in. Would also be better to not have him actually calling plays.

A big problem I'm noticing with Al is the players are detached from ownership of the team...Al seems like a its my way or the highway and if there's no ownership there's no buy in..

This right here. It's Goldens know it all demeanor that I despise especially cause he's such a failure. At least coley consults with the players about what works what doesn't. Golden and Dorito think they know, and even worse don't trust their players to execute their grand vision. It's why they coach scared.

Took the words right off my keyboard. Even though he's WOAT OC, I think he would be a decent HC. I think he'd have the balls to fire and underperforming coordinator or position coach(uncle jethro). There certainly wouldn't be any dropoff in recruiting. As long as he never calls another play on his life, I think we'd be OK

In all honesty this has been my biggest disappointment. Now when we hired Golden, I expected a learning curve. He had a lot of buzz around him, but still not much experience with any real program. He seemed like a bright guy and he was eager to embrace our culture and embrace the opinions of others. That's the type of mentality you need when you are an upcoming coach. Know what you're good at and seek help where you aren't. I remember Jimmy talking about Golden asking him questions and being a sponge, that made me hopeful, even though Golden was a bit in over his head.
Fast forward a few years, and nothing. ******* nothing. If anything Golden has just shown that he believes so much in his own ability, that he gives zero ***** about what anyone else thinks. I don't blame the guy for being a little ****** given the hand he was dealt here, but no one benefits from his egotistical handling of this program in the long run. ****. Maybe I'm way off base, but I don't think so.

I disagree with the notion tht Hill is one of the reasons for our demise... Hill came in 06 as a highly heralded cornerback. We didn't have any wideouts so he moved over to offense for the team. He had to be disciplined by the staff on one occasion. However he struggled with injuries until his 5th year where he finally was healthy and played corner... And too be fair, none of our corners has matched his productivity... That being said, I'm not a Golden fan. I was never impressed with any of the hype. However, this is really immature of Hill...
