Former Canes OL coach Jeff Stoutland

He’s the one coach I always mention when the hey day of Miami football is talked about.Schnelly did open up a lot of the local areas but Saban left the cupboard full when he left…
Full? No. Headed in right direction? Absolutely. Signing Lester Williams and the 1978 class really got things going. Plus, the last game win over the Gator in Gainesville was important. Ottis Anderson willed that victory with 31 carries in the second half.

Ok. I’ll stand down. But I have very painful memories of the OL that second time around.
He did coach one of the best OLs in CFB history during his first stint. Do I recall correctly that Dorsey was only sacked 4 times in 2001 or 2002?
Yup....Mckinnie didn't give up a sack for 2yrs...and it was the Best OL in UM History....and those guys were directly recruited by him.

Saban all but ran him out of Tuscaloosa. Yes, Stoutland is a solid position coach. But he will be remembered for halfback pass in the Sun Bowl as interim head coach.

He does have an incredible amount of talent to work with in Philly.

Better suited for pro game.
His claim to fame at UM is Seantrell....Lol....Kehoe defecates on Stoutlands resume.

It was still pretty **** good....ask Duke Johnson
Look at the O Lineman still in the NFL. My only knock on Art was he loved to recruit guys like him. Overachievers not always the best athletes, but he was terrific. And nobody loves this alma mater more than Art even though the idiots at Hecht did not always do him right.

Best Ol coach in the game. Oh and 11-1

You got real live people in this thread posting that Kehoe is a better OL coach lolololololol
He was during his tenure at UM...that's irrefutable....His OL got Destroyed vs ND in the Sun bowl...and was curbstomped vs USF causing Onion to be fired...his recruiting at UM was toilet water.

Coker fired the Best OL Coach in UM History...Only person with 5 NC Rings at UM...Put more quality OLmen into the NFL....more Award winners...and more AAs than Stoutland can fathom....and Coker fired the Best RB Coach Soldinger in UM History as well...to save his own sorry F-ing ***....both of them have complete disdain of Coker....again, I don't give AF what someone does AFTER they leave UM....The basis of the original argument was....who's the best ever at UM....And that's Kehoe...his resume at UM...Sh*ts on Stoutlands.
His resume at UM ***** on guys “resume at UM” who was here 3 years? LOL apples do apples Stoutland is a better coach. His complete resume proves it. Guy survived multiple regime changes in Philly because he’s the best in the business.

Kehoe had a great run with us but why **** on Stoutland? Both are great coaches but one became the best in the profession.

I never ONCE **** on him...and again, Kehoes resume at UM is not just better...but a whole lot better....and. don't give a **** what anyone says..

I think the NFL & multiple former Miami coaches tell you what they think of Kehoe. Great cane, average college coach. Stoutland is on another level.

There were plenty on this site that wanted him fired at the time
That's not exactly comforting.

  • There was plenty that wanted Butch fired in 99 after PSU
  • There was plenty that wanted JJ to be fired after the collapse at the end of 84
  • There was plenty that were getting antsy with Howard in 79 after the loss to Florida A&M.
I guess canes fans will be canes fans.

I remember fans trashing him constantly on Canestime in the Pipho era
