Hue Jackson.

He inquired about the job last year. Has a ton of experience. He's considered an elite X's & O's guy. Very energetic. Players seem to love him.
This. Meacham is an interesting name. Brohm as well. Dino Babers and Chad Morris

Matt Campbell - Toledo (Might the biggest sleeper. young, has signature wins, bowl victory, and won his division already currently on a 10 game win streak, ranked, and has two kids from Miami currently committed. dream come true?)

DJ Durkin - Michigan (might be a defensive wizard)

Matt Wells - Utah State

Pete Carmichael - New Orleans Saints (Saints finished #1 in offense 4 of 6 years under his watch).
Nice list

Chuck Pagano, Mark Stoops, Chud, Greg Schiano, Hue Jackson, Rodriguez. Those are solid names I think we would at least get back to our roots with those guys.

The guys I would love to at least reach out to and gauge interest: Gary Patterson, Mark Dantonio, Bob Stoops.

If for some reason TCU was to not make the playoff undefeated (a lot of polls have them out of it right now) or they lose to Baylor and don't make it, it could work wonders for our case. Patterson would realize if he ever wants to win the NCG he has to leave TCU and the Big 12 for their ****** formatting. Long shot though.

Venebles should be on list

No he shouldn't be on any list. He has ZERO wins. He has NEVER coached the whole team. He should go get some HC experience and then we will talk.
Not saying I want him but money gave us some parameters. So just saying rather have him than these 3 Chud Mario Schiano

Specifically who is claiming money?

We have the money, don't believe the hype.
I was referring to dmoney and his parameters on the question. I do believe like you we have the money. We won't spend it on a coach but they have it.

Couldn't agree more about Patterson and TCU

I do not agree with that at all. That guy is an elite coach. Look at his history, he has been good at his craft. At least we will have a defensive identity. However, for me, I have and always will want an offensive coach. In South Florida if you had an elite offensive coach you could AGAIN, change the landscape of College football. The pro set is even dead in the league, look a the Pats yesterday, they aired it out all day long. It is just the progression of football. I say go hard after any coach that has shown he can coach offense. I like the guy at Houston, Memphis, or even a Leach. But I think he would not be a great fit of the area. But I want a guy like that, that just plays fast, effective offense. There are plenty of players on this team right now, and there is even more in the area coming out to consistently create a powerhouse program, we just need someone who can turn them into the players we need because they have an identity, and they know the kind of player they are looking for. Look how good Clemson does with just a few guys from the area that fit what they do, or when UL did the same thing with some local guys.

We are all gonna spit out a ton of the same names but just a couple of off the radar coordinators.

Lincoln Riley(Oklahoma OC)
Scott Frost(Oregon OC)
Brett V(Clemson DC)
Jake Spivdal(Texas AM OC)
Doug Meachem(TCU OC)

I haven't really thought about it beyond Herman/Fuente/Butch. After those guys, I'd call Rich Rod and maybe Mark Stoops.

A few things (just on Brent V or any college coordinator with zero HC experience):

1. There is no proof he is an elite HC. He has never been a HC. He does a good job coaching a defense but there is much more to it when coaching the whole team. You know who else were elite coordinators? Randy Shannon and Will Muschamp. Both failed when given the HC gig. Does this mean that all **** college coordinators will fail? No. But there is clearly a risk. Miami should be looking to minimize the risk. We don't need the guy to learn how to be an HC at Miami.

2. It appears there is a new trend in college football and coaches. **** coordinators are going to inferior ranks to get their teeth wet.

Herman (Houston), Montgomery (Tulsa) and Morris (SMU) were all named as first time HC last year alone. I am sure, if they wanted to wait, someone like Pitt (with Nard Dawg) would come along and snatch them up without any HC experience. But perhaps, they want to go coach with the big boys. Perhaps they want to get some experience first because there is a lot to learn.

Fuente also did the same thing.

Look at Harbaugh, Briles, Meyer, Patterson and Sumlin. All coached at inferior programs (non BCS) before going to the Power 5. I don't see why this isn't the way to go unless Miami wants to really go get someone like Kelly.

3. As for the Pro Set v. Any Formation, I don't care. Just ***ing win games. Considering Brent V has no offensive identity, having never coached it, why does it matter?

Obviously a lot of names coming up. I'll say this, seeing how decisions are made at Miami historically I would expect to frame the next hire in the context of a reaction to the failure of Golden. So, I fully expect them to over-correct and focus on "Miami" guys. Pagano, Chud, Mario, Schiano, Stoops, etc.....I'd be good with all but Mario and Schiano.

First thing I do is throw money at big-time coaches at big-time programs. Call Saban, call Meyer, call Patterson, call Dantonio. They'll say no, but show everyone involved you're serious about this hire. Next step IMO is the NFL - guys like Hue Jackson, Pagano, Chud. Even if there isn't mutual interest, maintain those ties and contacts in the League. Then you look at guys like Stoops at Kentucky - i.e. good coaches in dead-end jobs. After that, you dig deep and look for guys like Fuente who may not have the hype but are cut from the same cloth - Matt Campbell, Matt Wells, Chad Morris, et al.

JMO.

What is UM's price range? UM certainly won't pay for a guy like Saban or Meyer. Who is within the UM's range?

Forget about qualifications, some coaches may have ZERO interest in returning to college.

Pagano, who would be great, may not want to deal with recruiting. Also, if he is let go he will get and deserves another HC gig.

Chud, who all indications hated recruiting, may be unwilling to return as well.

I have zero problem with anything you said. Much rather have a proven commodity. Especially with where we are right now and how crucial this hire is. But other than Chip Kelly excluding who Dmoney excluded in his question nobody really thrills me. I do think Jim Schwartz would be a potential great hire if he had any interest in the college game.

Has Lincoln Riley fallen out of favor lately? Last year he was talked about as being part of the big time up and comers (ECU OC) and then nothing this year. I see he's OC at OU now.
